kinda want to make a level about flipping gravity by using the night mode version of underground theme since it's upside-down. Not sure how I'd tie that into the gameplay though since afaik all objects behave the same upside down than they do normally, it's just visually flipped.

>level where you race a snake block and have to do a mini challenge if you lose
>level where you have to invade bowser's space castle
>level where you have to run underneath a huge bomber plane while it attacks you (think the first cutscene in sonic 3)
>level where you have to fight off bowser's tank/mech army

>level that you do twice, once with regular bullets and once with the bullets that go twice as fast
>3D world rhythm block shenanigans: the level
>Kid Icarus level maybe? I'm still not sure what the reapers should be, but the rest can be Para-enemies and pipe spawns
>a Yoshi level, because Yoshi is my nigga
But I'm mostly getting the game so I can play infinite levels

>level where Eric stops hitting my mom
>level where he doesn't touch me after I go to bed
>level where my dad finally comes home from the store and gets rid my my mom's boyfriend

You can make anything you want, right?

>100 coin objective level
>scatter 99 of them across the level, on tight spaces and alternate paths
>there's a 100 coin at the end before the goal so collecting coins was pointless to begin with

/devilish/

someone posted an idea like that, have a bunch of pipes launching moles and only one of them has a key

Metroid-like level now that there are vertical levels. Gonna try to make it so you need to find powerups to progress, I guess after you get past that area you'll start to find the powerups randomly in case you get hit, as if they were ammo. Not sure which style I'm gonna use or if I can even make a big enough level for it. Will probably end up giving up.

Even better if the level's title is "Grab all the coins" or "Don't skip a single coin"

The stinger should be putting the 100 coin in a block at the end when they're just missing 1 left.

youtube.com/watch?v=g_ebHCfeO-c
someone made one like that, its pretty cool

If you make them really hard to find, many people's instinct will be to head toward the end of the level anyway. Make sure every single coin is very visible but just hard to get to.

One of the post moratorium videos had someone flipping back and forth and getting keys in one world/flipping switches

>100 coin level
>hide the last coin in an invisible block somewhere completely random
>make it require a P block for extra jump height, preventing sprint hopping brute force tactics. This also makes it a one-time use or you'll have to restart the level.

How does he have it already?

>factory level using swinging claws and on/off conveyors to move around objects
>sorting minigame with conveyors
>falling lava/poison vertical level while propeller Mario has to bounce on flying dry bones to stay safe

nah that's just being a fag.
insta death pipe tier of bad level.

I sort of made a Kid Icarus level in the OG since I really liked the amiibos and wanted a cloud based level. I don't really know shit about Kid Icarus either, I just thought he matched the theme.

supermariomakerbookmark.nintendo.net/courses/394C-0000-02CD-84E1

i think he's one of those guys nintendo invited out to play it? no clue who he is.

A level that starts right next to the goal and a pipe, but you need to get 1 coin which is located at the end of a vertical gauntlet

>leaps of faith
>levels that play themselves
>FIND THE INVIS BLOCK LOL
>if you dont move at the beginning you die
>springs bouncing on springs bouncing on springs
>single screen stages that are nothing but the flagpole covered up with blocks except for the top
>every single open tile is covered with enemies
>"puzzle" levels that are really just waiting levels
>levels that arent anything but words spelled out with coins/blocks

I seriously hope you guys don't do this.

Journo

link?

They literally had to add a tutorial to teach people how not to make hot garbage levels, but I doubt they're all going to be gone.

They can waste all their time doing these levels, theyre just gonna get skipped. They’re unanimously hated and people dont really play those anymore.

If the tools allow it I'll be making PvP arenas for multiplayer.

>tfw finally have downvote button to send these to the shadow realm
Make sure to downvote every auto level too

>They’re unanimously hated

auto levels and kaizo levels are literally the most popular levels

that's about to change, see

i think it was during treehouse, i'll see if i can track it down.

youtu.be/T0vcxeMUN18?t=13913

thanks, this is really cool and basically what I had in mind. Guessing this is a story mode level?

Auto levels can die in a fire but Kaizo is okay, it just really needs a level tag so you can filter it out.

Anons, how do I find a game shop who will break the street date and sell me this game early? Do I go to my local not-24-hour Walmart after dark? If I order digital can I change my system clock to play it early? What's the game plan here?

Lame. Not paying 90 for a glorified port.

Game has barely any content added in. Still no overworld editor. THe new theme is too much like what we already have, no yoshi's island or mario world 2. Still can't mix and match themes. Too many things missing from the themes we have. Still too restrictive. Content removed from this one that was in the last game.

I ain't paying for this fucking garbage.

>Deliberately enters thread about game he won't buy and does not like

if i wanted to watch a game play itself i'd buy a ps4

Keep seething that I don't like your shitty port.

You entered this thread just to seethe

Keep seething Nintendo fag. You fanboys have no standards it's pathetic. It's crazy you people are fine with worse than the bare minimum.

So true. And watch, the hidden theme will be new super mario bros, or another one of the 3d mario games like we already have. because Nintendo is fuckin' lazy.

Well I was planning to build a level themed around Piranha Creepers and trees to make it feel like those Stickerbush Symphony levels from DKC2 but apparently you're only allowed to place 10 creepers in a level so there goes my most anticipated idea.

>scroll through the catalogue
>see a thread for a game i'm not interested in
>instinctively, i am drawn towards the thread with a burning passion
>i must let everyone know that not only do i not care about this game, but also how absolutely NOT mad or obsessed i am
>also, because this game is not to my taste, i must also tell everyone how fucking stupid they are for liking what i don't like
>again, please be assured, i am 100% NOT mad or upset in the slightest, how could you make an assumption like that?

I wanted to make a level where you have to escort enemies (without carrying them) but it seems impossible to make some that don't look awful.
Hopefully the new elements will make that thing easier.

Basic bait

I plan on making a land, sea, and sky level. The main area will be a jungle theme divided horizontally with the water level being on the dividing line. You play through the top half, play through the bottom half for an "underwater" portion, then go to a sky sublevel.

Digital games are tied to the eshop clock, so changing the system clock does nothing (it requires internet authentication to enable play for the first time)
If you have friends that work in retail they might break street date for you

Yoshi's Island is not a mario game retard. Let me guess, you wanted a Wario Land theme too.

There's a victory condition where you need to escort toads to the end. They'll follow you and need to be rescued if they take damage. Maybe you can use something like that.

That's already confirmed to not be available in edit mode, only in story
But maybe there is hope in a future update

Maybe a smaller store with an employee that gives no fucks if you're lucky. Most stores have a system that won't let you ring stuff up early.

I never played the first one so I have no idea on what's possible.

But is it possible to do a longer level, that would take more than 500 seconds or is the timer always there?

The story mode has a level like that, look it up

I can't wait to find the most obnoxious sound effects and play them constantly

Attached: 1530806527857.gif (322x222, 852K)

Probably will be, did the first game have anything in the story mode that wasn't avalaible in the editor?

there wasn't a story mode in the first game, there were sample courses but they were mostly short stuff using all the default editor elements. It seems the story mode in mario maker has more unique stuff.

ninja disco party with laugh track

I want to make something were you have to jump off bullet bills to clear large gaps. Kinda like in the beginning of the original Kaizo Mario, or the first level of Super Dram World.
Make sure to put all of them in your NSMB speedrun level.

Since the story mode is supposed to show you ideas for levels, it would seem weird to include elements/goals that you can;t use in the game, so i'm pretty sure they'll add it later. Maybe they though a toad escort mission was to advanced for the base game?

disco was removed :(

>horizontal level where things try to push you of instead of trying to kill you
>night level ground theme level where you have to platform off floating goombas
>3D world level based around positioning piranha creepers to make platforms and unlocking paths

>Maybe they though a toad escort mission was to advanced for the base game?
It looks like there are more toads than just the ones that do the rebuilding on the overworld map for story mode. My guess is that you get more toads to hang out around the construction site once you rescue them from their level. The fact that these toads wear hardhats in the levels would lineup with this

I'm probably only going to boo the shitty enemy spam or low level troll shit like pick a pipe.

Hopefully people ask for more themes and items rather than dumb shit like smb2, personally I want P palace and discoshell

>coins are still useless unless you set a "collect X number of coins" clear condition

would it really be that hard to have a system exactly like the 3 1ups per stage limit you get in 100man/endless mode?

even if all coins did was lead to more 1ups, they would still be SOMETHING to grab in endless mode, they're still near useless as of now.

Attached: paper mario sit.gif (250x250, 6K)

>But is it possible to do a longer level, that would take more than 500 seconds or is the timer always there?

Timer is always there.

Coins aren't useless. You use them to make trails and guide players on where to go. In good designed levels anyway

>no "collect at most X coins" clear condition
it's shit

Nigger.

A level dedicated to him. RIP

I understand they are still useful as breadcrumbs

I just dislike that they have no value outside of that, a bonus area with a bunch of coins in a normal mario game is rewarding and fun, in mario maker, making one is pointless.

Is the SWEET RAVE PARTY still in?
>youtube.com/watch?v=qAbMo246WxI

Attached: SWEET RAVE PARTY.gif (360x270, 3.66M)

Nope

Don't you get a 1up for 100 coins? That's enough of a carrot if you want to survive endless mode.

I know it was obnoxious, but it will be missed

gonna make a level based on new donk city because recreation levels always get a ton of stars, then I can actually make what I want

Giant penis

This is probably a really stupid question, but why do people jump from bridges like that? Is it the impact that they expect to kill them? Drowning from not being able to swim to shore?

Just hide 100 coins in invisible blocks all over the map and in pipes them. Make sure to waste everyone's time.

even if you somehow survive the impact when you hit the water, your body will be too weak to let you swim and you drown

>Disc for Mario Maker 1 stopped working a couple years ago and finally trade it in a few weeks ago, didn't get to make many stages
>Order a used copy the other day to play it one last time before 2 is out
>Won't arrive until Thursday
Damn I cut it close. I'm definitely hoping to get better mileage out of the sequel since I only made maybe 4-5 stages in the first.

I kinda want to do a coin level, but have 3 10-coins hidden around kinda like star coins.

Attached: uafUE5g.png (498x600, 291K)

Does that mean I can play it as soon as anyone else can, or people in my region, or can I change region?

Well, I answered part of it. It's set to unlock for all people in the US at 12AM EST.

It's non-messy and doesn't require any equipment. Drowning is relatively painless and a fast way to go if the impact doesn't knock you unconscious.

oxygen deprivation is painless but drowning while your body's broken from the impact is not
