What Battlefield should i buy now that i have a modern computer

Battlefield 4 or Squad if you want a Milsim

3 and 4 are kinda dead, you won't find servers with your favorite maps and game modes easily. They have some god-tier maps though.

I don't know about 1 because I haven't played it but I assume that it's still quite populated because 5 wasn't very successfull. 1 was a huge success so it probably has kept some of the playerbase still playing to this day.

5 was an absolute shitshow on release and is currently being updated and improved. It might actually be a good game by the end of this year. It probably is the most populated one since it's the latest BF title. One good thing I have to say about it is that it has the best gunplay in the series by far. Most of the current maps are kinda shit though.

I forgot to mention that you need to buy a fuckton of DLCs if you get 3 or 4. If you want to pay for the base game only then avoid them. Again, I don't know about bf1 but I assume it's similar. BF5 has this neat payment where you pay for the base game and all future content is free. There are purchasable cosmetics in the game though.

4 is my favorite one since bc2, but it's dead as fuck on PC by now.

The main problem I have with it is that almost all of the maps are flat fields with little cover which makes your life miserable if you don't like snipers and semi-auto rifles. There is only one map that I can't really complain about. All the others have serious flaws in my opinion(I have 500hrs of gameplay btw so this is not a "bad first experience" thing).

No, it's not. BF4 completely maxed out runs at about the same framerate as BF5 on lowest possible settings. Meanwhile, BF5 looks marginally better than 4, a game that came out 6 years ago. Maybe it's not an issue for people who are satisfied with 60 fps, but it's a problem if you want triple digit framerates.

If it had good maps and I could also get 200 fps on it, I would easily say that it's the best BF game ever. The aforementioned problems are really ruining it for me though.

3 is dead, but it was cool with the Karkand maps on hardcore servers. It also requires you to open up your browser to find servers, and it's really bugged. I can't even launch a game anymore. You have like 2-3 German servers with the exact same map 24/7.

I haven't played the 4th one, but it looks like they added way too many gadgets. It may also be dead.

The first one was bad when I played it. Feels way too arcade for my taste, but the graphics were really nice.

I haven't played the 5th one, but it looks way too arcade. And the fact that they keep changing things constantly shows that people are not satisfied and/or the game is on borrowed time.

The last Battlefield I truly enjoyed was Bad Company 2. The maps were REALLY REALLY good, and the guns had a better feeling.

This is why I enjoyed Dindufield. Its iteration of Metro, Forest, was enough of a nightmare to make even the most braindead of grenade chuckers to hesitate before voting that map.

Some can be pretty huge, but as stated, I hope you enjoy quasi-CoD maps, because that's all you're getting. Unless you're cool with insta-spawn vehicles (I'm glad that setting never returned in later games).

Squad is boring as Fuck. Gunplay is boring as hell and movement is janky. You might kill 15 people in an hour if you’re lucky. Most of the time end up shooting pixels a mile away.

Graphics do matter when your game looks like it belongs on the 360.

Bf5 is a fucking mess so avoid that. It basically gets worse with every patch

Sadly there really is nothing like BF2 these days, all we got are fps games that swing to far to the mislim side of things ( Squad) or to the other side with arcadey fast paces shootin ( nu-Battlefield )

4 felt different than 3. Can’t explain why, but I loved the feel of 3 waaaay more than 4. Heli controls were better in 3, for one.

I played it. It’s boring. Too much down time. Hollow interiors. Stiff character movements. Zero destructible environments. Infrequent enemy encounters.

The old battlefields didn’t try to restrain your gameplay in favor of realism, they just made a massive sandbox for you to fuck around in.

Yeah it’s depressing. Seems like there’s a shooter niche for every kind of FPS except for a fun massive military sandbox game.

I keep hearing that BFV has phenomenal gunplay and DICE LA is bringing a ton of new maps. But it seems like it’s too late now

Company coin's a currency you get by playing, it's actually not that bad of a system, unlike previous battlefields you won't get locked out of using a weapon because it's locked behind challenges on DLC maps no one plays. The problem with it is how little content they put out.

Is Battlefield V even populated nowadays on PC? I’d be afraid of getting into it now, since the release bombed and people dropped the game in droves or outright didn’t buy.

That and the fact that the next battlefield is surely to release in Fall of 2020

Have they fixed it yet? I remember weapons and cosmetics being locked behind the tide of war weekly objective shit and if you didn't get them you couldn't get them afterwards, at least up the point I stopped bothering to play

Don't know about cosmetics i think they cycle but you can get any weapon with company coin just not the current active one.

I must admit that Squad is pretty much the only game I play these days.

EA, like many other big studios, now has to follow suggestions/orders from their shareholders. Imagine having to listen to investors who know nothing about video games, tell you how to run your company and in what direction to go with your games. Terrible idea.

I highly recommend people boycott the Battlefield franchise, because you are the reason these big companies keep doing what they are doing. You fall for dumb hype marketing and you pre-order a shitty game. You're like a dumb sheep getting shaved naked, and those big corporations know it. They'll keep milking dumb people out of their money as long as they can, and they have no incentive to change and give us an actual and real Battlefield game with the Frostbite engine and full mod support.

As long as this masquerade lasts, I'll stick to the real Battlefield successor--Squad.

BF3 has players, you just have to filter out empty games using the 1-5 slots free option. Otherwise just scroll down.

Some 60/64 servers have fake counts meaning they only have a few players on them and they are usually laggy as shit
