Termina and Twilight seemed to be their own things and not just the same map with new assets on it.

It's a big part of the planet, of course like Hyrule itself the planet has changed, plus in certain games just a few areas compose "Hyrule" proper. In OoT I think Zelda says something in reference to Ganondorf like "I fear he might not want just to conquer Hyrule, but the whole world."

i mean probably, but i'd assume Hyrule is such a massive peice of land, the other games obviously take place outside of it like Skyward Sword, it's like Game of Thrones where we only see its map, and nothing to the East or West

Isn't Termina supposed to be like a reflection of Hyrule? Like the reason it's all so similar and justifies the asset reuse is because it's pretty much Hyrule if you took a warped funhouse mirror to it?
