I have a question (Hallow Knight spoilers)- I really don’t wanna get spoiled, but I also really don’t wanna fuck up. Do I pick Brumm or Troupe Master? I just don’t want to do something irreversible where I miss out on a item or something. Please let me know if that’s the case without spoiling me

Pick Troupe Master. You miss out on stuff if you go with Brumm and he also ruins the comfy atmosphere in the starting zone.

Don't pick Brumm. Both paths finish the DLC and give you a unique charm, but helping the Troupe Master leads to something much better.

You could always make a backup of your save just in case if you're on PC.

I’m on Switch, fuck. Well I don’t want to pick one and miss out on the other forever but I don’t want to be spoiled so I guess I won’t know until I choose. Thanks for your help guys

You get a different charm depending on your choice, and you can only get one of them.
Brumm: carefree Melody charm, has a small % chance of negating damage everytime you take a hit. Very useful when you're doing the Godhome dlc
Grimm: last upgrade of the Grimmchild charm. Pretty bad charm desu
More importantly, you won't be able to upgrade fragile charms anymore if you pick Brumm.

>helping the Troupe Master leads to something much better.
What, the NKG fight? You can always do that in godhome.

They give different final items and a different ending. The main difference is if you work with Brumm you miss one boss fight. The hardest one IMO.

>the hardest
did you skip godhome or something

Nope beat that as well. Could just be me but I find him the hardest.

Yeah but you get that bangin music when you fight him in the DLC.

huh
i'd put nkg at third hardest, pv and ar gave me way more trouble

After Godmaster I'm convinced Markoth is way harder than NKG

carefree melody sucks absolute ass, there's enough rng in the game as it is. While grimmchild is only marginally better, being able to fight NKG more than makes up for it

markoth is only really bad on the hall's higher diffiulties
base fight and poh he doesn't do enough damage to be a serious threat

>markoth is only really bad on the hall's higher diffiulties
Those are the only ones that matter user.

BANISH THE TROUPE
LISTEN TO ME
DO IT FOR YOUR OWN SANITY
FUCKING BANISH THEM

That's a fact. Markoth on Ascended/Radiant requires you to use Nail Arts to reliably hit him during his second phase and only when not being spammed with nails. It requires far better execution than NKG, who just has double damage as its thing but is otherwise a very learnable fight.

Fag.

DONT LISTEN TO THEM
LISTEN TO ME OP
BANISH THEM
IT DOESNT EVEN GIVE GOOD LOOT

>admitting you're a casualshitter pussy who cant deal with a decent challenge
and you hope to finish godhome with that attitude?

I did both paths to get all achievements
ITS REALLY NOT WORTH IT OTHERWISE

Why do people consider NKG anywhere close to the hardest fight?
He performs his moves in a predictable manner and all you need to do is learn how to avoid every move.
On radiant the hardest bosses are those who can't be predicted and learned reliably.
Disclaimer: I'm doing godhome in order by beating every boss on radiant before doing the pantheon he's in and I'm currently on the Markoth and he's the hardest thing yet. I have not fought NKG yet.

Do you like the accordion? Do you like taking less damage? Then Brumm is the right choice for you.
Do you find the Grimmchild adorable? Do you enjoy hard but fair bossfights? Then go with the Grimm.

OP, you don't actually miss the fight if you banish, you can still fight the boss in the boss rush mode (and alone in hall of gods) that's part of the game.
The real difference is making your breakable charms unbreakable becomes unavailable and the charm you get as reward is different.

>Wanting the ruin the comfort of Dirtmouth with accordion bullshit

>radiant markoth is the hardest thing yet
just wait till radiant radiance
the reason people see NKG as the hardest fight is because before godmaster autism, they had no reason to hone their skills to a high level, as barring a couple of exceptions, hollow knight was a slow, easy comfy metroidvania. NKG was the first true bossfight that challenged facetanking and healing strategies. You HAD to git gud to beat him. He certainly has competitors in pv and ar in terms of difficulty, but no other boss had such an impact. This is why hk veterans refer to nkg as the hardest bossfight
Fuck, I completed godmaster and radianted everything, and i still see nkg as the hardest thing to master because i had to challenge him for two weeks before I beat him for the first time in the grimm troupe dlc. He's still my favorite though

NKG feels like the most pattern intensive fight. If you get into the rhythm and know the right moments to heal if you slip up its easy, but if you fall out of the rhythm bad he can fuck you up very quickly.

Pure Vessel feels the hardest for me. Haven't tried AR yet.

I see, I banished (as my post suggests) so I never fought him pre-autism.

Bosses that you are allowed to reset yourself (ie: getting to the center of the arena, waiting for a tell, dodging, hitting, repeat) are the easiest in the game, and its about 90% of the bosses.

People give Nuumuu, Markoth, and Absolute Radiance shit because you aren't allowed to reset the arena to a favorable point, which is what makes them difficult. It's about adjusting to your current position and dodging from there, rather than going to a 100% safe position and repeating the same pattern.
NKG, Pure Vessel, and to an extent Zote you are allowed to reset yourself, unless there is some unfavorable circumstance you MIGHT take a hit, like NKG dashing you into a corner and then doing an uppercut with little breathing room. Zote you just have to play around the POSSIBILITY of a switch-up.

Amnesibrumms accordion playing is comfy too.
