I'm happy the level cap is finally being raised so I have a reason to grind again, the last few DLC's not doing it was a waste of fucking time
The versus mode is a horrible idea though
ill wait til all the dlc's are on heavy discount before picking the game up again.
I got into the beta. I hope that they make some changes before it goes live because they fucked with the HP values of enemies and added in some gay stagger system to inflict more damage to enemies. The end result is that hordes became extremely hit-spongey and unsatisfying to fight.
I'm looking forward to the expansion. I've heard some things like said, though, so I hope they fine tune everything.
We'll have to see. I got into the beta and honestly WoM seems really boring. Fatshark added yet another grindfest onto the game while still not addressing anything that people have been screaming about for a year already. Combat is less satisfying with so much focus on stagger and dodging being nerfed into the ground. Hopefully with the internal testing they'll hammer out the issues but I'm honestly not holding my breath as it's Fatshark.
bind the dedicated dodge button instead of using the combined dodge/jump space bar default. Makes you 500 billion times better already.
>there's a dodge button
Holy shit I never knew, I've been using the jump button since the start.
It's unbound by default. Check the key bindings.
How are the new weapons? Fire flail and Saltys new weapon to be precise?
Not OP, but I think at this point I'd be better off sticking to the spacebar just because of muscle memory but fuck I wish I'd know that from the start.
I mean if we go by that you can just change the jump key.
>lvl 30 talents are 25% more dmg for 2 sec against staggered enemies, stagger on first hit or 50% dmg against staggered enemies or stagger on headshot/crit copy pasted across careers
It depends on the person of course, but personally I got used to having a dedicated dodge button pretty quick. It just takes a few days.
how?
HOLY SIGMAR
Wonder what made them want to focus on staggering? That doesn't really sound as fun.
Stunning equals easier hits and maybe more damage each hit? I don't know about the latter part but it's felt like that playing on normal and hard.
I know with the huge hordes on catcalysm stunning is needed as the enemies try and flank you and encircle you. So more stuns equals more time to deal with threats.
What is the real use of Knight Krubers charge special ability?
>Places me away from team
>makes all enemies now surround me
>Pubs and scrubs usually think down = dead enemy, so they stop swinging
I just wanted to be a team helping tank, but all I end up doing is flapping my shield arm until I see my team already running away from the hoard.
fatshark used Redshell on vermintite 2
I feel kind of mislead with that amazing cinematic trailer they released. With the five waltzing into a beastmen infested wood, it felt like a new level was being added. Also the beastman "protagonist" in the trailer had a lot of characterisation, building him up to a figure who would end up as a boss.
youtube.com
Honeslty beastmen looked like to be a third army, first being skaven and second being nurgle norsca. Now all they are just another flavour of special and elites within the pact forces.
My dissapoint with Fatshark is that this expansion is mod tier, what we really wanted was new levels etc.
Noob here, what's the point of hunter Kuber when Krellian exists?
It has a super low cooldown so you can always have it ready. It cant stun bosses which is always useful, especially for chaos spawn or something. If you're team isn't bad it can really help with a horde, or clear out a downed teammates encircled horde. You can do fast. You're a bloody battering ram, that's what you are.
In Beta you can get 5 sec of invulnerability after charge talent, it's nice.
They also got rid of roadmap because they are fucking incompetent.
Wait there are no new maps?
Press block and your charge won't move you.
It has amazing Crowd Control.
Shields WILL be viable, even if we have to force everyone to play with Stagger.
>IB & FK using shield and playing as a tank
>1.5k damage dealt in the end
What makes these retards think roles exist in this game?
From what I've heard there aren't.
"getting good" in this game is literally just spamming dodge. it practically makes you invincible since the rats will target your old position instead of you.
the beastman models look like shit
That's now really getting good, more like getting average. Dodging is a basic skill.
>Watch beastmen trailer
Someone tell me thats not mordheim. That cant be, timelines all wrong. Thats just another city leveled by a comet right?
Positioning and communication matters just as much. Dodge is worthless if you have nowhere to move.
I'm also pretty sure that they're nerfing dodge in the next patch.
>city
That looks like a town. I think they are just showing how powerful magic is to foreshadow the weave bullshit.
>knockdown regular enemies
>stun CW and SV in a decent aoe
>break monster grabs
>general hard interrupt against dangerous attacks
It has a lot of utility, you just need to learn when and how to use it. Charge laterally across the frontline if you don't want to go deep into the horde. You can press block to stop charging at any time during the movement, even immediately after it starts to essentially turn the charge into a decent AOE knockdown in your frontal arc.
How would you rate the new weapons?
Is Witch Hunter Captain still viable? Headshot slaying seems like it'll be a good work around the HP bloat.
>no new maps
WHAT RE THEY DOING EWAFH?GS
IM stick of the same maps over and over again
where the fuck is all that money i spent on dlc going?Wa
jesus christ what the hell
I sadly didn't have time to play more than a few evenings, so I didn't get to try everything.
*Fire flail was really fun on Unchained, and she's tanky enough to eat the occasional hit due to some of the flails attacks being unsafe.
*Throwing axes are a lot of fun. I'm a bit hesitant to see whether or not they'll be up to snuff for legend+ due to breakpoint math. In legend it took two to kill and SV. RV gets 5 axes total, and the axes have zero penetration so you're fucked if a slave rat pulls a secret service to protect whatever you were aiming at. Recalling the axes with the magical recall probably takes too long to do within a horde if your teammates aren't competent enough to hold down the fort for two seconds. That can be rectified a bit since you can instantly reload individual axes by picking them up with F, even by pulling them out of still living enemies, but it can be easy to overlook them in a fight. I'm hoping that a mod will grant permanent outlines to the axes to make them a bit easier to keep track of in the furball. The fire rate is also pretty high, and you can style on the bile troll by just spamming axes into his face nonstop once he's on his knees with conservative shooter. It may also be better boss DPS in general to ignore your melee and just chuck five axes into the boss, pick them out of the boss's hide with F, and chuck them at the boss again.
*I'm afraid that I didn't try Salty's new weapon. I'm a devout member of the Rapier/sidearm cult. Brace of Pistols with the guaranteed crit perk for salt's ult feels OP as fuck.
It crowd control on tap. Just knock over anything that looks remotely threatening and kill it yourself before it can hurt your team.
>Place me away from the team
Press block immediately after starting the charge and you'll stop in place.
Just git-gud. FK has been amazing since launch and he's getting super-turbo buffed in WOM.
Play Vermintide 1 again.
Better maps.
More maps.
more value campaign DLCs.
Hopefully versus mode comes with winds of magic? and hopefully they fix the filesize.
Oh yeah, WOM changed dodges so that dodge spamming is kill. If you dodge too early then there is a window where enemies can hurt you by landing hits where you used to be.
>is Saltz's strongest career still viable
It's being buffed to outshine the other careers even more dude. Guranteed fucking crits for the duration of his ult. Fattuna can't into balance.
>guaranteed crits
holy sigmar
just watch the winds of magic and versus mode trailer. we could have gotten this shit over a year a go if fatshark didnt spend their dev time making worthless twitch mode and console ports
>use 2 handed weapon
>enemy recovers from stagger before you take another swing
>Consoles
Can't blame them for trying to fill the left4dead gap on consoles. A lot of potential money there.
>"Worthless twitch mode"
Big streaming bucks.
I think they took a lot of gamables that haven't paid off, though I can see the logic.
>guaranteed crits
oh man
>twuch mode is bad
fuck you fag, it is awesome. Makes legend not too easy. Now with Cata being added it gonna be spicyyyy
SKAVEN SOON
Some of his other new talents are spicy too.
*tier 2: Blocking an enemy attack during the parry window causes your next melee attack to be a guaranteed crit. This competes against Deathknell as a tier two choice though.
*Tier 3: Witch Hunt causes enemies to take an additional 5% damage, which may be optimal for hitting breakpoints depending on the finalized numbers. Alternatively there is one where you get a 10% attack speed boost for 15 seconds for merely tagging an enemy. The attack speed boost will surely be the go-to default choice if the first one doesn't achieve breakpoints.
tier 4: Pushing an enemy increases stamina regeneration by 40% for two seconds. This competes against +20% dodge range though, which I think that I'll be sticking with.
For tier 5, I think that the guranteed crits is the strongest. However an alternative one refunds 10% of the cooldown if you hit 10 or more enemies. That'll be fun for maximum monologuing about SIGMAR.
>Tfw no evil version of vermitide where you cut down hordes of bretonnian peasents and imperial soldiers
>tfw when you will never fight dwarf and elf bosses.
is it worth getting into right now?
kinda excited for versus since I played the shit out of l4d
>10%
Fatfingered that. It refunds 40%
>no new levels
>weaves use a separate progression from the base game that is even more grindy
>you need to level up each CAREER for each character and the weapons
>no RNG so it's just grinding out the quickest level that is the exact same repeatedly
>fartshart are still clinging to their stagger meta
>enemy units still have insane HP values even after the ""fixes""
>clanrats still have 4x as much health as live
>hordes are too tedious to fight, so everyone runs drakegun/sienna to instagib hordes
>bosses die nearly instantly, barely even notice them
>beastmemes are boring and don't make a noticeable difference
>wargors and bestigors are still buggy as shit
I don't know why I expected any different from fartshart, but I was genuinely excited for this. Playing the beta/internal test has put me off of the game so hard that I can't imagine shelling out any money for this trashfire. Hell, I would pay money for it to NOT come out, since it'll completely ruin the game I currently enjoy once it hits live.
1 shot = 1 kill . ez
WOM sounds like it's not worth it. But vermitide 2 is like the perfect sequel to left4dead, and it goes beyond that
>Multiple types of mobs, ranging from small swarmy naked slave rats to big slow norscan barbarians
>More types of "special infected" including big heavily amoured chaos warriors, to rats with gattling guns.
>elite enemy squads, such as stormvermin who are heavily armoued rats and plague monks, who do super high amounts of damage.
>Multiple bosses, such as a huge troll that heals when half it's health is down, and the chaos spawn that eats your team mates to heal. Huge gatling gun armed rat commanded by a fucked up rat baby.
>Varied maps with different objectives, such as resucing soldiers, or in another running across basically the gaza strip to get away from the skaven hrodes.
>5 hero charachters with 4 sub classes in each. Each class has it's own unique perks etc.
>Excellent banter between your charachters.
Left4dead really needed more "tank" boss variety, but fuck me vermintide does that but goes beyond it.
I know that feeling, I even stopped playing every 3 days on live to get my quests done. I won't buy WoM because I feel like I'm done with the game.
I think there was one new map with the upcoming expansion that introduces the Beastmen... or it was something along those lines but not a new map?
Sigmar that's great. I'm worried about the overall WoM but Sigmar's Chosen Autist sounds like he'll be even more fun to play.
Also forgot to mention that both the heroes and the enemies all have really good vocie acting. It's much better than just zombie sounds.
Is there anything more tragic than thinking of what this game could have been?
VT1 was a testament to a dedicated, if bumbling, team turning a rocky start around, but 2 has pissed everything up a wall.
I wouldn't go that far. I'd say they are stumbling in the post-game. Expansion really should have taken longer and been played more safely. Just bring in more maps. They overhyped the beastmen to being a third force but all they are just another flavour of elite and specials.
Weaves are silly and bit too gamey though.
>worthless twitch mode
Free advertisement for the game, loads of popular games do not allow the chat to have a role and interact with streamers
40k spinoff when!?
Remember Space Hulk: Deathwing?
40k doesn't have the flavor or the right setting for this sort of game.
The voice actors are so great. I always want the Ubersreik 5 to talk more. One of my complaints with 2 is it feels like they shoot the shit a lot less.
The setting is fine for a horde shooter.
And yes, i remember Deathwing. Thats why i want a game like that made (more) competent devs.
I think the amount they chatter is perfect. The problem is I wish what they chattered about was more varied.
>It's another Krellian is tsundere for Kruber epiosde
What does the expansion bring? I haven't played this in months.
I feel like 90% of the dialogue gets halfway through before it's interrupted by a horde. In 1 every so often I heard something new or at least rare.
There is basically 1 type of dialogue for everyone.
Maybe a better "ai director". Valve seemed to get it right where if the "bots" being controlled were chatty, the hordes and special infected were switched off.
Maybe if versus mode is successful they'll add it. One can hope.
