Been playing through the DMC HD collection and really enjoying myself. The combat is fun as fuck (except for 2), the characters are likable and campy as hell (except for 2), and the aesthetics and soundtracks are great. I’m also a fan of SMT as well.

From what I understood, they weren't really "speaking" any language while in the ghost world. That's why they could also communicate with Missile.
And for the "understanding all manner of objects, tools, occupations, and consequences" part, I thought that it was because of all the time he lived with Yomiel he learned to understand those things since he was the only person(?) he would talk to. It's not like the animals in this world have the ability to understand everything, as seen in .
I dunno. I've replayed GT 3 or 4 times and I think it's a good twist, didn't fell like an asspull since the explanation falls into place with everything that happened during the night and everything wraps up neatly by the end.

I'd like to believe we'll see a spiritual successor, but I doubt a sequel will happen anytime soon. It and Okamiden came out at the tail end of the DS' lifespan and got forgotten, and AFAIK sales for Ghost Trick weren't that great.
