The first one was the best, it was the only one that actually explored how characters would act during a killing game, so even when I didn't like some of the characters you could still get invested with seeing how they would react. I really didn't like the second one, it felt like a VN and I wasn't too fond of many of the characters, not to mention it had the really dumb plot twist at the end. V3 was good, the character interactions were neat and the whole thing had an air of confusion, but it was dragged down a bit by some pointless shenanigans.

From 1-4 we learn that Yasuhiro can kill if he feels threatened, That Aoi can feel spiteful and can kill. We see Kyoko show more emotion, with her feeling joy and triumph out of outsmarting Byakuya, and that humiliation further developed Byakuya into half giving a shit.
