My left joycon drifts and has weak responsiveness. How do I fix it?
what angle is your switch sitting at in the stand
I use it in handheld mode
Buy a new one
I dunno. Maybe get like, some string and weight. Maybe gran an espresso shot too.
Ask your gf's bull to buy you a new one
Gyro drift or joystick drift
If it's joystick just push down on the stick and shake it is a good temporary fix
Gyro I'm pretty sure you can reset it in the options menu
Early joycons are defective. You're going to need to replace the analog stick (cheap, but not recomended; quality of 3rd party shit is trash) or replace the joycon itself. Or, if its still in warrenty, the best option would be to contact nintendo customer service and ship it in for repairs.
Real Answer
(if you don't want to take the shit apart)
Buy WD-40 Electric Contact Cleaner (NOT the regular lubricant)
Lift the flap at the base of the joysticks and spray into there, then swivel the stick around. Problem should be gone.
Why did they shit the bed with this? Nintendo have been making joysticks since the NES haven't they? This is the first time I've ever known a controller to have drift
Use it as a dildo
Crack that shit open and repair it yourself.
Sticks and buttons on controllers are so primitive a kid could see what's wrong with it once it's opened up.
The motion controls is where shit starts to get a bit sweaty, but if those are fine it really isn't hard to figure out.
put a vita stick in it
you'll need some soldering and glue, the base of vita's stick is roughly the same length and height but slightly narrower, and the pinout is different
This correct BUT ONLY temporary
I personally do this myself and it has worked wonders. pic related is my dpad joycon which I do have to replace the side slider. Joycons are pretty shit IMO. They are NOT made of nintendium.
Do what I did, get a job at gamestop, open one of the controllers off camera and switch out your controller for good ones. May as well do both to be safe.
NINCELS BTFO
>not bing bing wahooing at the airplane as quentin throws an autistic hissyfit on the other side
Cum on the right one too
You call Nintendo and they will fix it in warranty. I recently sent mine in (blue one just like yours) and they fixed it for free, even the shipping and return was free. They won't even ask for your switch serial number or receipt, so you could possibly do this if you lie about your purchase date or if your switch is hardware banned due to modding.
search in amazon "joycon joystick", I bought one for 5 dollars (they include the tools) and change it by yourself, there's a spanish video on YouTube (with subtitles) that tells you how to do it by yourself.
buy a 3rd party replacement?
Dumb question, shake the stick and/or the controller itself?
The reason it drifts is because gunk or dust has accumulated under the Joystick base. The sensors are really sensitive so they start treating it like someone is holding down or whatever. Like an user here said just get some WD and spray it under the flap, or use an air pressurizer and swivel it around. That should take care of the problem. Put your switch in an enclosed space where no dust can reach it when not in use.
