For online they really should give players that cross the finish line the option to immediately head back to the lobby to start voting on tracks and change up carts and characters instead of DNF 7 other racers. If you're choosing your character based off of whose stats you think are best for a track, that doesn't really help. You don't know for sure which track is voted until the 30 second mark, then at 10 seconds your character choice is locked in. 20 seconds to change character, kart, color, etc is impossible. Is there some option to have presets for characters that I'm not finding?

They need to remove the 20 second timer after the guy who is 1st finisehs a race.

Hey, I've been looking for a thread like this. I'm super interested in this game, but really cannot decide whether to get it on Switch or PS4. What would you recommend?
I really love the idea of playing it handheld, and playing it in bed, but I know the resolution takes a huge hit, plus loading times. On PS4 however, you get the resolution, and it has extra skins and details, but you're confined to playing it in one place.
Maybe I've played the Switch too much, but buying a console game I can't take with me feels like a waste of money now.

I couldn't do it, over and over again, couldn't even unlock Oxide, until I realised one crucial thing.
On the jump that gives you USF, DO NOT powerslide. Just regularly drive, do a hop corner and ramp.
That's the only way (at least on a speed character) it's possible to maintain the USF. With it, you'll absolutely trash Tropy's time, and I beat Oxide by 9 seconds on my first try. It's JUST a test of that USF.

Dragon Mines is very, very easy, if you do the mines shortcut.
Even Oxide only does it once- the minecart syncs up on lap 2 to flatten you, but he misses it on lap 3. So do the shortcut on lap 1 and 3 and you're golden.

What's disgusting about Crash Cove is that I won by a slim hair of 1 fucking frame.
Now I know that ties give both players the position, so technically I was 2 frames from being considered a loss, but jesus fuck the T placement is so much more of a setback because of how bullshit speed the AI gets for free. Mostly the pain is the fact that it's a massive straightaway without many turns to take powerslides around so you're forced to snake in straightaways and even then the AI can keep up.

The online matchmaking really needs to be fixed. It sucks never being able to finish a race because one or two guys is a minute ahead of everyone else.

I'm all for high level play, but there needs to be multiple tiers of skill for a game with this high of a skill ceiling. You can just throw every single player into one party and expect it to go smoothly.

It's called speed ghosting. Going downhill on some tracks gives you a huge boost of speed.

I can't get the first motherfucking time relic, and I'm trying as hard as I can. Spastically trying to get turbo boosts isn't working.

he is extremly based on hard turn tracks like cortex castle, n gin labs, hot air skyway.
Once you get the blue fire you can keep it the entire race if you continue to use boost.
Most chars cant keep it because turning turns to cancer since you are going too fast.

Spyro will be balanced for the same reason that Crash is (main character). I would say Baby T will be handling and Kong will be speed, but they seem to be ignoring the general pattern that CTR and CNK set with character classes, as seen with Penta being speed and Krunk being handling.

I tried Deep Sea Driving the other day and man the speed you can get there is insane, it's so great.

You can get that speed on about 9 maps, but you really have to work for it on most of them.
The easiest three for that speed are DSD, Hot Air Skyway and NGin Labs.

but why though, you already get a difficulty selection through which tier of relic you get, that's what was beautiful about them. Then after all that is said and done you still have the raw time remaining for ranking performance.
Unless there's genuinely different box layouts for each difficulties (I'm counting having boxes with different timestop values to qualify as a different layout) I don't see a reason why they'd need to make separate relic race difficulties.

It seems the only difference between Hard and Easy across every level (I only checked 3) is 5 seconds. And as I thought originally Hard follows the exact same time as the original, so basically Easy gives you an extra 5 second grace over the original.

I suppose classic mode also uses the real relic times but what a letdown that medium is the "intended" difficulty when they made one aspect of it strictly easier. Hard is bullshit for other reasons but at least the relic races are faithful.

So do the classification for characters mean jack shit? Why are heavies considered "advanced"? I'm actually having a way easier time playing as Crunch than any of the other characters so far.

Here's something I would really like in the game: the ability to set your camera distance default so you don't have to press L2 every time if you prefer that. Also an option to set which speed meter you want to see out of the 3, so you don't have to press triangle to get the one you want every time.

That map has big issues in the remake but the plants are certainly not one of them.

Unless you're talking about the relic race in which case dear fucking god the fucking hitbox with the box right in front of the plant has ended many of my plat runs.

Its 50/50 whether I manage to dodge the plant near the end of the track. Its impossible to drift without getting near it

If you jump in front of them they can't eat you by the way. Makes the last plant 100% consistent.

you have to jump beforehand, let go of X/B and press the brake button and the direction you want to go, everything needs to happen mid air
