I miss her ME 1 character man. So innocent, naive and sweet. The other games just seem like they tried to harden her too much.

I think the shadow broker stuff was too much. DLC was pretty good but it's just a weird decision for that character

Going from really naive archaeologist who wants to grow out of her mother's shadow to a super elite Asari Commando operator that controls all blackmarket networking on Ilos was absolutely pants on head retarded. In terms of Asari age, Liara's a teenager- and due to Asari living between 800-1200 years, there's a lot of Asari who spent more time doing the INTRODUCTION to commando training than Liara spent building her network in the 2 years Shepard is out of the picture. Just a terrible, terrible story decision.

Not only did she have dlc dedicated to her, she's also the hardest to kill. It's only possible to do od if you don't meet even the lowest bar for readiness points and only if you take her on last mission. You have to basically fuck over earth to get rid of her and it's only possible because every other compainon dies in those circumstances.

Shitty character development almost like Lightning in FF, I bet it's the voice actress' fault

There's also the fact that she's the reason ME2 even happens because the comics show she was the one who saved Shepard's body and gave it to Cerberus in the first place. It's like they felt the need to keep her as important in 2 and 3 as she was in 1 for some reason, like she HAD to have a replacement for her knowledge of Prothean ruins or she wouldn't be worth keeping around

What are you on about? She was still the same in Mass Effect 2, just better written instead of having just five dialogue options and a fetch quest like in Mass Effect 1. Mass Effect 3 and the "woah im admiral now" basically made her what she is now.

Giving her something else to do after ME1 was a good idea, but it's not done well. Garrus becomes a vigilante after struggling with C-Sec, Tali goes back to the fleet after her pilgrimage is over, Wrex leads his clan after he complained about idiot Krogan traditions in the first game.
Liara becomes world's most powerful and edgiest info broker over a character and events we don't even see in the game.

But the Alliance got all it's infos from Liara

I mean it's pretty obvious that Liara is the canon romantic choice if they ever were forced to pick just one. They needed to change her character to keep her relevance up in later games hence the semi personality change, though it's pretty clear it's more a result of traumatic circumstances than anything
