the forsworn were so fucking half-assed. I remember being really naive at the time picking up Skyrim and not realizing how watered down a game it was going to be. This wasn't long after I played New Vegas, and I thought there'd be some option to truly ally with the forsworn as a "dark horse" in the political drama of nords-vs-imperials. But no, you help out the """king""" of the forsworn, he thanks you and fucks, and now you have ONE SINGLE FORSWORN CAMP in the entire reach where the small handful of NPCs from the jailbreak quest hang out and don't attack you. All the other forsworn camps littering the reach will still attack you on sight, acting no differently than any of the other million bandit camps, except wearing tribal clothes.
The Forsworn should've been like Caesar's Legion. Hated by the majority, and most players will probably just indiscriminately kill them anyway, but you still should've been given the opportunity to align with them.

What really bugged me is how seemingly nobody gives a shit about the nordic pantheon. You don't even find any ancient shrines dedicated to Shor or Kyne or anyone like that, but you do get massive shrines to Azura and Boethiah that the dungmer built.
And perhaps there might be some lore explanation for the nords all worshipping the cyrodilic pantheon of the nine divines, but no explanation is ever given in-game. Nobody even acknowledges the change, and the only reference to the old pantheon you really see are in nordic expressions like NPCs saying "shor's bones! a handsome man in falkreath!"

In the mod releases section there should be a thread called "shota/loli something resources" but you can skip the pedo stuff, I was able to get a good stable 100hour playthrough using that as a foundation. I didn't use the pedo stuff tho and it's only for oldrim but many of the mods there may have been converted to SE. So we had morrowind, and then it got fucked by red year and an-xileel. And we had oblivion and cyrodiil got completely fucked up by the great war and the empire coming apart at the seams. There's lore books alluding to how the falmer could fuck all the surface-dwellers up if they tried, and giving us actual snow elves in dawnguard sort of feels like foreshadowing as well.

I dunno man, I just started playing again with a lot of mods installed that tweak various aspects of the base game, and it just never gets that much better. I think if the game is fundamentally lacking or flawed in some way, it is very difficult to iron those problems with mods; when they are deep rooted in the core of the game. At least with Oblivion, you have memorable quests and characters which aren't so hollow, so if you mod the shit out of Oblivion some of the problems really go away and it still feels like a solid RPG game.

You're not wrong at all. And sadly I've yet to see a mod that properly unfucks the leveling/stat system. There are plenty of mods like Ordinator that overhaul the perk trees to make them more unique and interesting, and mods that add starting classes back and such, but I've never seen a mod that actually fixes Skyrim's difficulty curve, where the only challenging time is at the very beginning when all your skills are low, and you quickly become an omni-build after that.
It's probably the main reason I never finish skyrim. I'll pick the game up after not having touched it in years, play through until my build's main skills are more or less maxed, and from there there's really nothing else to do. Leveling doesn't matter anymore. Loot doesn't matter anymore. It just becomes checking off the boxes of quests on my To Do list before finally getting bored.
