Been eyeing the game for years now. It looks fun but how hard is it? I'm not opposed to a difficult game but if it's like Age of Decadence where it feels like the game is just purposefully fucking you over at all times then I might just skip.

It's not like Age of Decadence but a bad build will cockblock you from finishing the game. As long as you don't go retarded with your build though every combat encounter is beatable.

Everything except the story is good imo, but the story is really bad.

Atom's combat is incredibly poor compared to Underrail, throw the word meme around all you want, that's not an argument.

I would argue that tranquility psi isn't that easy to play since you need to know what you are doing to play it well, psychosis on the other hand is really powerful and easy to use.

Tranquility already gives you an optimal damage output but allows you to shit out way more CC.

tranqulity is also easier to get it going and setup

There's also a high CON synergy since there's a trait that gives you max HP for two turns.
You're essentially hulking up into Senator Armstrong who proceeds to shit fire and explosions everywhere.

it's not really hard, the only hard mode is Dominating and that's just arbitrary difficulty with a lot of added enemies to most encounters and buffing their HP by like 300% forcing you to metagame a lot of encounters unless you play some easy mode build.

just wait for the expansion then start over with one of the new options. If that doesn't motivate you to start over then what will?
