Download this and install in the correct order (readme). Game won't work properly without these.

What turned me off Gothic 2 was that the game has that one part where if you fuck it up, you fucked your game. Some bugged quest where you can lose your vital item or some shit if you did it at a wrong time.

Souls has fucking spoiled me for combat, I just can't play any game now that doesn't have a combat system of the same caliber. M&B, Chivalry or Morhau is good for what it does, but you can't have magic in them. I guess POE or grim dawn has something that I enjoy but that's iso not 3rd or 1st person.

I'm amazed how well Gothic 1/2 have stood the test of time. I've gone back through a bunch of older games and most of them were clearly just nostalgia. VtMB, apart from the atmosphere, is honestly quite awful.

I've bought all of Gothic on GoG for $5 when there was promotion right after they showed C2077 on E3.

The thing souls does so right is that slower pace and telegraphed attacks rewards planning ahead, tactical thinking, and deliberate action over just reflexes and manual dexterity like most combat systems. It lends itself to a more cerebral game where you have to weigh your options in combat rather than mindlessly attacking.

Witcher 3 combat is way more clunky than souls that's why it's bad. You don't have the same level of control over your character as souls, though souls isn't perfect; action queuing shouldn't be a thing.
