Build a fancy new PC

>start playing games at 100+fps with my 165Hz monitor
>decide to see what Final Fantasy XV looks like maxxed out at 1440p
>download 4K res patch, turn everything up to high
>turn NVIDIA hairworks and other shit on
>framerate feels low and choppy
>turn on fps counter
>60fps
What the fuck? Why does 60fps feel wrong now? How the fuck does this happen? Just a month ago 60fps felt silky smooth as fuck. Please, explain this to me, Yea Forums.

Welcome to the Masterrace brub

Nah, I've been with PC for ages, I just played at 60fps until recently.

It's placebo, the human eye can only see 30 FPS.

it's 24fps you fucking PC elitist

Welcome to the upper echelon of the masterrace

Turn off any Nvidia effects. They're shit and kill performance.

Frame timing can fuck shit up too even if you're getting 60 frames a second.

This.

I just raise my standards, I only play games with 100+ fps, otherwise, I don't even waste my time

it's 20, any more than that and you'll make yourself motion sick

because it's almost half that refresh rate you retard

My monitor has GSync.
Bitch.

Once you go past 100Hz your brain is permanently damaged. You might not notice it at first as you willingly admire those buttery-smooth visuals, but every millisecond of exposure tampers with your visual cortex, sending it into a state of euphoria that irreversibly alters it. By the time you've viewed such masterful renders for just five seconds 60Hz will look like a slideshow to you. Even moving windows around at 120+ frames per second is enough to fuck you over. I fell for the refresh rate meme, and since then I've only been able to live in regret.

It's not about the NVIDIA effects, it's about the 60fps framerate itself feeling like shit after having been spoiled by 100+fps.

I only play games at 300 FPS, anything under 120 is unplayable.

Are you implying the human brain is even remotely capable of processing anything past 10 fps? Do you know how stupid you sound right now?

So long as you enjoying it I have a 1080ti and don't really play anything past 2012 besides some good modern FPSes

>Been using the same PC since 2016
>Enjoy everything from Yakuza Kiwami 2 to DMC V to Sekiro to Mordhau to Risk of Rain 2 to My Friend Pedro to Ys VIII to ReMake 2
Feels good ignoring shitty western AAA games.

Once you go 120 you can't go back
It's even worse if you use gsync/blur reduction

I started playing Metro Exodus through game pass after playing 2033 and Last Light redux and the difference in framerate is stark to say the least. I've been gaming like that for a while now, but going from >144 to ~80 still feels strange when it's within the same series.

its 1 fps, stop being a meanie PC fanboy

fps is a social construct you sexist pig

True we see in rays
