will anything ever come close to this?
Will anything ever come close to this?
UT99 is better
UT3 is better
Maybe.
disgusting
>UT3 is better
Now i'm gonna have to stop you right there. It had less maps, a shit campaign and very limited character choices. The only thing going for it was the Unreal Engine 3's eyecandy..
but it also had shitty tripods
Oh yeah I had forgotten about those. It's like they were hopping on some War of the Worlds theme or something.. It was a mess, the game even felt like Gears of War was shoehorned into it.. Didn't really feel like a UT game by aesthetics alone.
>UT3 is better
Are you on drugs?
yes, it was very disappointing to me.
Halo MCC on PC is the closest thing we'll get. If it flops, I think it'll be time for me to accept that I'm too old for gaming
wasn't ut3 the one with that retarded surfboard shit
Unironically Epic Games was going to throw the surfboard into UT2003/2004; but decided not to. Sadly ended up in UT3.
>The only thing going for it was the Unreal Engine 3's eyecandy..
Pop-in, shitty textures and lighting, shitty color palette, post-processing and blur out the ass vs the crisp clear perfection that was Unreal Engine 2.
Unreal Engine 3 was the worst thing to ever happen to videogame graphics.
somehow it was still used by every single game at the time.
Not just graphics the engine is completely janky bullshit on the code end too. Games like Xcom and RO2 do things that shouldn't even be possible like randomly reseting cfgs.
>shit campaign
It was beyond shit. It was a fucking joke. The campaign was literally just playing the multiplayer but only with bots.
Yeah the game had to run on consoles and the concessions they made for it to work were apparent. These are major problems last gen in general and games from that era have aged really poorly as a result.
>Settings that you could still disable in the game options.
I know what you mean though, UE3 era games were bloated with lazy visual implementations which were ugly, and sometimes eye rape.. I thought that the complexity in Unreal Tournament 3 though was good looking. It hasn't aged well though.
MCC is going to do fine. Contrary to what Quakefags believe, people do want to play an arena shooter. They just don't want to play the complete insanity that Quake turned into.
All of these arena shooter revivals fail because they double down on what drove people away in the first place.
Nope. A game with that amount of content would be split up into like 10 different DLCs these days. Not to mention a big part of that game was its fantastic mod support, which will never be a thing again because mods mean less money for devs. At most we will get a spiritual successor clone that only has DM maps and still isnt as good
how is halo like ut at all
Imagine playing UT when we had quake. Disgusting.
