>MGSV traiiler was 6 years ago youtube.com/watch?v=NL4ZxDWLwpM Why are we still here, just to suffer? Every night, I refresh a new MGS thread , new posts, even thge General. The resources I've lost, the enthusiasm I've lost, won't stop hurting. It's like they're all still there. You feel it too, don't you?
Anyone still playing MGSV in 2019, btw? I just started a new game, going to play most missions OSP with Infinite Heaven.
OP here, I'm not at all hyped for DS honestly. It looks meh, but I hope it's good for those who are hype for it.
Christian Wright
>a weapon to surpass Metal Gear Remember when this was a lighthearted meme? Now it's a reminder of happier days, back when we were anticipating the game. Before we were all disappointed and jaded forever.

I might do another playthrough actually with IH and set it for a harder experience. I generally get bored once I hit Africa as most of the missions seem to be more open areas, meaning it's easier to be spotted so you resort to either KOing everyone or going with guns and shooting.
I also am probably the only person that imagines most of the MGS is mostly separate stories and not one series. Kinda like the Marvel "what if" comics
I like military settings but I also enjoy stealth games a lot. MGSV was as close as I could get to my dream game, I just wish Kojima held back on the inane dialogue and terrible plot devices.
To this day I'm flabbergasted that Konami decided to use the assets and engine to make a half-assed zombie survival game rather than release mission packs, location DLCs or even a mission editor to retain a contant community. They really are a corporation of old men.
I just hope some day someone takes MGSVs core gameplay forumla and puts it in a framework similar to ArmA or Mount & Blade where people can just create endless content for it.
Isaiah Bell
You are amazing
Camden Jackson
is there any way to make the enemies in the game actually spot realistically instead of being braindead to the point where I can stand 50 meters away and they still can't see me?
Dylan Diaz
Desert Fox remains my fav camo.
Angel Cook
Good game. Bad plot.
Adam Sanders
Any hope that mods will fix this game?
Anthony King
I bought the game on release but only got around to playing it earlier this month. It's pretty fun, but Kojima's inane contrivances always put me off.
Jordan Nguyen
Infinite Heaven is the closest you'll get.
Jordan Clark
I was doing a sniper only run, stopped when I was trying to shoot the driver of a moving car and kept failing, had a bunch of other runs in mind too. Might pick it back up again when I finish some more of my backlog, I’ve already put almost 250 hours into MGSV
Jose Cooper
I loved mgsv. stay plebby Yea Forums
Colton Torres
Based, I'm always happy to see I'm not the only one completely disillusioned with Kojima after MGSV
With all the constant connections and references to other games in the series, I have no clue how you could possibly look at them that way.
Joshua Nelson
Only if you play with all HUB elements turned off, including spotted enemies.
>still holds up really well I'd hope so it's not like it's twenty years old or something, t's three fucking years old user
Lincoln Myers
Same. I'm still going to buy it day one to get in on the hype while it's still fresh, but I'm not exactly dying to play it or thinking about it nonstop or anything, counting down the days until release like others. The ideas seem cool, but the actually gameplay looks mediocre. Still, I of course hope for everyone's sake that it turns out good
Nathan Ortiz
just started it a few days ago after playing GZ for the past 3 years, it's easily the best metal gear and probably the most interesting stealth game I've ever played. I love how you're encouraged to take risks, plan escape routes, etc.. It's much more demanding than any other MGS if you try to play stealthily. Skipped Peace Walker so I have no clue what the fuck is going on story-wise, but the cassette format is better for exposition dumps than codec conversations. But it is pretty sloppy in it's delivery so far. Either way the gameplay makes up for it tenfold
Gavin Carter
>did the trick to bring back Quiet after her ending >it's annoying as shit fighting her again and again so I decide to fuck around >bring the water gun >sneak up on her and start squirting just for shits and giggles >later notice that I have to repeat the mission more than 7 times to bring her back >the times I shot her with the water gun aren't counted and I couldn't bring her back until I beat her 7 times only using the supply drop trick >mfw Still don't understand why the times I shot her with a water gun didn't count. Now I just bring the water gun with me all the time because tranq pistol is OP anyway, and shoot Quiet with it whenever I get the chance. Gotta keep the plant zombie waifu well moisturized.
>I just started a new game why? can't you just go back and replay missions? that was one of my problems with it and why I'm in no hurry to go back and replay it. that whole hospital segment in the beginning is so tedious
>when people thought words that kill wasn't literal
Samuel Campbell
Using Infinite Heaven mod, you can increase their view distance. You don't need to change any other settings.
You should use Snake Bite Mod Manager to install it and change the setting in the helicopter. I also advise you to remember this sets it for all AI as do changing any AI setting. An example of this is changing the health to above 100%, say, 150%, you cannot stopp Shael from jumping up when you meet Otacon and thus always get a game over
Caleb Scott
Why was Ocelot so goddamn boring in MGSV bros? I've stopped caring for the unfinished nature of the game, or Kojima's autism for parasites and half-naked Joosten, I just wanted my cool Ocelot back.
Because none of the characters could have fun interactions with Venom since he had to be a silent protagonist for the "play it your way!" meme. Also because he couldn't be directly involved in the events of the game because that would conflict with the open world
Easton Torres
because that was the real Ocelot and not the masks he puts on for later games
Hunter Martin
I appreciate the open ended nature of MGSV. >infiltration of multiple sized bases/camps/outposts or attack depending on your tactics >have to plan escape route as well >have to watch out for patrols >traveling makes it easy to fall into a false sense of security
I just wish there were more dynamic events and mission variety, which could've been solved if Konami made more content, even if just maps and missions.
Adam Hughes
Whatever happened to the news of fans making that editor.. Foxkit?
Nolan Parker
>I just started a new game The intro is kino the first time, but I don't want to watch it every time I start a new game. I wish there was a skip intro option.
Jonathan Sanchez
> too lazy to learn how to past but I'll do that when I get my PC back, I recommend that for everybody.
Elijah Nelson
Literally what benefit is there to starting a new game? So you could re-watch the cutscenes that play between missions?
Ian Taylor
like i explained to a friend who asked me if i was excited for kojima latest bowl movement >i am a metal gear fan not a kojima fan
Charles King
>Translation script leaked on reddit apparently finished in 2013 >MINOR UNIMPORTANT revisions made TWO YEARS LATER KOJIMA HAD ALL THE TIME TO WORK ON FINISHING MGSV IS IT ACTUALLY SUPPOSED TO BE THIS SHITTY AND BLAND I WANTED AN ACTUAL STORY, NOT A FUCKING GAME ABOUT THE META FUCK KOJIMA, KOJIMA IS A HACK, FUCK KONAMI TOO FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK
I THOUGHT WE WERE SUPPOSED TO THINK THAT VENOM SNAKE HAD HIS OWN PERSONALITY AND BELIEFS BUT GOT ENSLAVED AND FORCED INTO BEING BIG BOSS BY BIG BOSS AND THAT BIG BOSS IS A MEANIE FOR DOING THAT SHOWING HOW VILLANOUS HE REALLY IS BUT THAT NEVER FUCKING HAPPENED BECAUSE THE GAME IS ABOUT FUCKING NOTHING FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK
WE'RE FUCKING SUPPOSED TO WRITE VENOM SNAKE? HE'S THE FUCKING PLAYER? ME? I'M NOT SUPPOSED TO HATE BEING BIG BOSS BUT RATHER I'M ACTUALLY SUPPOSED TO ENJOY IT? I'M SUPPOSED TO THINK THAT WE'RE NOT ENSLAVED INTO BEING HIM, WHICH WOULD HAVE BIG BOSS ACTUALLY CRUEL AND VILLAINOUS FOR FUCKING ONCE IF THAT ACTUALLY HAPPENED? IT DIDN'T? THE FUCKING MIRROR SCENE MEANT NOTHING? BIG BOSS NEVER DID ANYTHING BAD IN MGSV, HE GAVE THE ROLE TO YOU BECAUSE HE'S NICE? I WANTED BIG BOSS TO BE A CUNT, I WANTED HIS DOWNFALL AND I DIDN'T GET ANY OF THAT
Nah the real Ocelot was Major Ocelot from MGS3 where his fullblown autism for Big Boss was on full display even outside of the triple-crossing. MGSV Ocelot was wearing a mask as well, especially considering how much he had to lie in Venom's face to keep the real Big Boss under wraps.
Gabriel Kelly
it might legitimately be the most incoherent story ever created
Cooper Roberts
I still play it. But haven't in a couple months cuz of my GTA 5 online addiction. It's like 2 good TV shows being in at the same time. Which do you watch? Always hard to choose.
Kevin Wright
It was a real disappointment they didn’t take more advantage of the sandbox mercenary mode. Just cruising Afghanistan capturing high value targets and blowing shit up was great. Was a real disappointment such a shit show of a plot got attached to what was otherwise just fun operator missions.
Christopher Torres
Everything leading up the the game was 10/10 best experience. The game itself was ok.
Cooper Bell
>Translation script leaked on reddit apparently finished in 2013 Wait is this true? Are you being serious?
Connor Reyes
I wish they made a bigger deal (and story) about the mercenaries you're recruiting and how it builds a sense of camaraderie within your group until it finally reaches the viral outbreak during the climax. In the end, it's all just window dressing when it actually feels like it should have been the main focus of the plot.
Nolan Phillips
I didn't finish it last time round, so restarted it last month. I forgot how repetitive and tedious it gets. I think it might actually be a bad game.
Cooper Murphy
This is what happens when Kojima is bitched for more Metal Gear cash cows because of things that he never needed to explain before assholes like Konami and fans like you showed up. Pertaining to what you're getting so mad about, you got Big Boss' downfall in 3. Kojima did not need to write anymore but idiots (read: you) kept wanting games about Solid Snake saving the world and Big Boss running Outer Heaven while not realizing that the series meant to end on a cliffhanger and that protagonists in MGS are not supposed to cross the unspoken line.
Thus, crap like 4 and Peace Walker were shat out of his ass. All because of Konami and you, once again, but most importantly, fucking you. You wanted to beat Metal Gear to a dead horse, you got more than one.
MGS should've stopped at 3. Nothing good came from it afterward.
Zachary Ward
Honestly, considering how much Kojima was pressured in to making more MGS (and it showed), I really wish the series stopped at MGS2 and MGS3 then left the rest up to the audience. Not only would we have been spared from Kojima's autism being forced to crank out more games he didn't even want to make, we also could have gotten new IPs from him a lot sooner.
At the very least, we got MGR from Platinum I guess, which was actually entertaining.
John Wright
Then you wouldn't have gotten a snuke in the snizz though.
Carson Anderson
how does camo work in this game? it seems stealth is based more on distance and line of sight and choosing the "right" camo works kinda but not really. like, I come across a concrete road but its covered in sand, do I use the desert camo or the urban one? there is camo for rocks but also camo for dirt that is the same color as the rocks. its the only aspect of this game that I fucking hate because my autistic brain needs to know if Im properly camouflaged or not
Christopher Cook
desert fox for afghanistan adp for africa splitter for fob
i never use the sneaking suits
Benjamin Butler
The sneaking suit is useful for combat missions because of the fast health regen. I also like it for melee because enemies don't hear you sneaking up to them until you grab them.
Jaxson Martinez
how is this an answer to his question?
Liam Miller
I just wish that they update the game to increase the FOBs to 10 or more, I have more MB coins and I don't know what to do with it
Caleb King
Something about MGSV is really appealing to me. It's a unique setting as far as open world games go. Tons of weapon and mission variety. Lots of ways to do things. Really satisfying to zip along roads on D-Horse or D-Walker too.
I wish the plot was finished or had a bit more polish to it. But, I liked what we got. It's probably one of the best acted games as far as mo-cap and voice acting goes. Sutherland grew on me as Venom Snake, especially after how increasingly cartoony Hayter's voice had gotten. RAD and Christopher Randolph were scene-stealers though. I still get chills from some of the cutscenes.
MGS2 is my favorite. I play that one every couple of years. It's themes are increasingly relevant as digital technology continues to evolve.
This hurts me deep, lads. I watched every trailer dozens of times. Probably more than a hundred times. I was beyond hyped for this game. I still contend they were some of the greatest, most hype trailers of all time. Too bad Kojima doesn't just make trailers for a living.
Ethan Mitchell
>code talker
such a meme character
who will be the code talker of death stranding?
Isaiah Rogers
>tfw multiple times Kaz and Venom got near each others' faces. >tfw they never kiss Why are we still here, just to suffer?
I want to see you two get ground up to pieces in a garbage truck.
Alexander Anderson
not them but what's the point of playing the most fujo bait game in vidya history when you don't even fantasise about snake sexing his 20 years friend, Kaz or Solid Snake sexing Ocelot?
I thought he was cool. "Eyes on Kazuhira". He's interesting and I like his backstory. The tape with him and Ocelot discussing how he dissected and examined The End's remains was neat.
I didn't really care for Troy Baker's performance as this (For the most part. His comedic delivery for some lines actually made me chuckle) but I did like how Ocelot was the most observent of things and the one to really start making connections quicker than most. Like how he pretty much immediately made the connection between Quiet's abilities and those of The End.
