Because LucasArts shut down and George sold everything to Disney, who have no idea how to make video games. They signed a decade long exclusivity deal with EA that resulted in two failed shooters and what is shaping up to be a boring, linear action game.
In that same time LucasArts at its prime would have had a strategy game, two RPGs, three space sims, and 3 action games out that would ALL be considered some of the greatest of their genre.
