Why did Dead Island fail and Dying Light succeed?

This has a lot to do with it. Dying Light really was just better in every way over Dead Island.
I actually like dead island but dying light is basically mirrors edge with zombies
no deep dick silver meddling
>dying light is basically mirrors edge with zombies
and?
Dead Island was generic, poorly programmed, buggy, etc
Dying Light was more unique by adding parkour and the day/night cycle where night made zombies much more aggressive and dangeous
WHO DO YOU VOODOO BITCH?
and thats a good thing
parkour

Dead Island had the wonkiest animations of all time.
Parkour and the night time.
Actual scary suspense during night time.

third times the charm
yeah, first time escaping from volatiles was pretty tense
shame you get really overpowered by the end of the main storyline
Kek I forgot about that
God I hated that music. Even if I spammed glowsticks it would fuck me up.
Dying Light has better everything card
Dying Light is Dead Island 2: Not Vaporware Edition, and has the benefit of hindsight to shave off all the dead weight, neaten up all the rough edges, and add the parkour which makes movement more interesting and gives you an option to completely avoid pointless combat which otherwise would make the gameplay sluggish.
the moving in dying light made me nauseous which made it unplayable
Dying Light actually being a good game is probably a big reason
Get better genetics motion sickness fag.
Oh man, have you guys tried playing Dead Island again after Dying Light?
I enjoyed it when I was younger (mostly due to analog combat and an absence of taste) but it's borderline unplayable now.
I may have been disappointed that the trailer was nothing like the game, but I really enjoyed Dead Island. Looting, questing, killing zombies with different character types, I had fun with it. If they removed the weapon durability or made it far less retarded it would have been a lot better. Is DI2 ever coming? Dying Light was ok but I didn't like it nearly as much as I did Dead Island. I didn't care for the climbing in Dying Light and the weapons you could craft in DI felt better. Though perhaps that's because each character had one weapon type they were really good with.
Thanks for the paragraph telling us how fucking stupid you are user
Not gonna lie, I liked it
It was alright up until you left the resort area
And its a much worse game for it
Dunno if it's the same on lower difficulties, but if you played on hardest difficulty dying light made you feel like a little bitch that could die at any time from just a few zombies. This forced you to actually think and use everything available to you. Sadly after you get guns and hookgrip it stops being the case and game goes from solid 9/10 to 6/10 generic zombie game.
