If you class didn't have perfect affinity with a weapon it was almost worthless. Maybe they changed it post 2006 era FFXI, but I remember DRK being endlessly memed as not being able to hit anything because Scythes were worthless (A+ Affinity), so every DRK would use Great Swords (A- Affinity), but because their affinity was only A- they had shit accuracy.

I am content to level GNB first. That way shit isn't a crowded mess when I get there.

WHM has very good DPS so it's a good choice for leveling, although its dps rotation consists of putting up 1 dot then spamming your heavy hitting attack endlessly so be prepared for boredom when questing

4.3's trailer was really good at the parts with theme for Swallow's Compass (which is the best dungeon theme from the post SB quests).

I played Warrior all through Heavensward and I just found the Stormblood playstyle really unsatisfying. I mean as a start, Fell Cleave loses all of it's impact when it's just a spam ability, and dumb as it might sound, there was something satisfying about getting your triple cleave+fracture in during Berserk while doing mechanics that's just gone with hit Inner Release and mash the Cleave button.

I imagine its a combination of the first and 3rd case. I also think some species don't produce hybrids and instead simply sire children of the mother's species. The big example of hybrid children we've seen involve Hyurs but people have no problem fucking cats, to the point where the Allagan royal bloodline ended up in a catboy.

It could also be that half breeds are unlikely to display notable traits of their double lineage, so a Lala and a Roe couple may just have a Roe or a Lala child and they won't display any notable mix. Also we've only seen two STORY important half breeds. For all we know half breeds are all over the place, but they're not important.

In 1.0 they had only conjurer, thaumaturge, gladiator etc instead of classic Final Fantasy jobs that tend to use more simple names.

Because 1.0 launched without jobs and tried to use special snowflake classes instead. People got mad and wanted classic FF jobs so advanced jobs were added later.

They wanted freeform classes. In early 1.0 your physical attributes were freely leveled by you. So you could level as a CNJ and only stack Strength. You could also crossclass any skill on any class, so you could play as a Lancer casting magic, or a tanky Pugilist. So rather than use the classic jobs, they went with new classes to encourage you building your own.

yeah the only point where wow really tops ffxiv is raid content, which is both a blessing and a curse.
i wouldn't mind more raid content in ffxiv but wow raiding is literally just "play it until you burnout" which is always stressful when you feel like you're letting down and ditching 19 other people.
whereas in 14 you just clear content and chill and play other games until the new 14 patch.
plus 14 has the upside that I actually want to login to the game and do things that aren't raiding.
