But when Koji was translating it to English he wanted to keep the nautical themes of the entire fight since the song for O11S is basically about a space boat traveling the stars. So because of this he wanted to make left and right nautical but thought that people would get more confused if he wrote it as Starboard and Portside because people have had trouble with it before. Because of this he dug deep and found that people used to use Larboard instead of Portside in the past and thought it would be easier to remember because the L in Larboard can be used to cheat your brain into reading it as Left.
But everyone found out that the names was fucked to begin with because of how in the JP translation it was just direct and then they complained and then the battle team caught wind of the complaints and then complained to Koji about it.
