Why are people pretending this game looks good? Because it has Fire Emblem in the name? You can like the game but the artstyle is garbage. It's objectively low quality and flat looking with lazy airbrush shading. They cheaped out and hired some fujoshi artist because they know they don't need to try anymore. it's generally conflicted. Awekening went more into waifuism and animu territory, but it saved the franchise from dying, so now IS is going more that way. The fanbase is dividd between those who just want to jack it off and those who want a medieval strategy game.
I don't know much about this one. Looks ugly as fuck, the presentation is almost a crime against art directions, but the gameplay seems fine and they are trying new things with the story.
Fates was a trash bin and clsoer to the average game your' japanese virgin would buy to not feel alone, while Echoes was a remake of classic FE (which, ironically, the newer audience despised)

I personally enjyoed Awekening but loathed Fates to the point I stopped caring for the games. I wish they were better but IS isn't particularly know for being competent.

The series has always been animu same way Golden Sun or FFTA was. Sure the artstyle drinks a lot from anime and some of the themes too, but Awekening put a lot of emphasis on relationship and marriage and kids, which is a cool feature for a unit based game, but the writting did go a lot more into anime territory.
Then Fates came and that was jsut breaking sound barrier into fanservice to the point the added a Senran Kaghura like minigame that had to be removed when localized overseas.

FE 2 was always considered shit but normalfags ate its remake because of art and voice acting while it retained its flaws which are very little actual content and dogshit gameplay in terms of maps and mechanics because the team couldn't be assed to change shit

Every class can equip any weapon (besides gauntlets for mounted units and magic); having the weapon triangle would be pointless in that regard.

Since every class can use most weapons, it would be cheap if everyone could take advantage of the whole triangle from the start.
So now what's essentially a weapon triangle bonus has been repurposed as breaker skills which you learn fairly early which are tied to your weapon level.
Basically this means anyone can use an axe, but only axe specialists get weapon triangle bonuses for it.

Anime artstyle, not modern anime aesthetic, which is far inferior. The games always had women that people could waifu in their mind but when the series introduced a customizable player Avatar that could actually form a relationship with said characters, it started the decline of this series’s writing and character development. Not that it was great before, but characters went from being one note to being less than that.

I think the hate for Awakening is overblown but there's a pretty clear difference between people waifuing a character which is a thing that's existed since time immemorial, and the blatant pandering in Awakening where you have a self-insert that can marry everybody and the game is clearly adjusted around that point.
I don't believe at all that waifu stuff is actually the big problem hurting Fire Emblem like some people do, but it did change some things significantly with us not getting married couples and other default relationships between characters, and things like the awful Fates children. It's disingenuous as hell to pretend Lynfagging are equivalent to that.

They were lategame in Awakening and Fates, level 15 promoted units learned them. You do fight enemies with them early, depending on your difficulty.

Byleth is not customizable.

To be fair, Treehouse Live did have a recruited Ignatz learn Axebreaker at B Swords, Raphael Lancebreaker at B Axes, as soon as Ch. 8, but everyone else was at C ~ C+. Even then, it's only +20 Hit/Avo.

Scouting lets you recruit characters from houses you didn't pick into the one you did. The dialogue usually just has them talking about their motivation for wanting to join you but you need to have certain levels in certain areas, like Lorenz wants you to have a high leadership stat.

You can't recruit house leaders and certain exceptions. Like for Deer everyone but Hilda has been shown with the scout option so she's probably unavailable.

I can't post this without taking 3 times the allowed characters. The February Direct, Famitsu, and E3 revealed interesting gameplay mechanics reminiscent of Genealogy of the War (Holy Blood and Weapons, Dismount, Canto, durability repair) with Shadows of Valentia (Combat Arts, Mila's Turnwheel, no Weapon Triangle), and the malleable character progression x hub world x Atelier series calendar system seems fun to play around.

In IntSys's defense, Radiant Dawn was 12 years ago and they've "co-developed" with Koei Tecmo to borrow Warriors' 3D models since they couldn't just port over Shadows of Valentia's.
It still absolutely looks poor graphically, but can only go up from here for future titles; like Fates adding Awakening's lack of feet.

For it's time, this is the worst looking Fire Emblem I've ever seen. The GBA games had great spritework that still holds up, and while FE9 and FE10 didn't look as good they didn't look terrible for when they came out either. Awakening was somewhere between GBA and FE10. I understand that gameplay is more important, but that's no excuse for a downgrade.

It's true the 3d battles in PoR were awful; probably the only time I've ever turned them off in the series. But the character designs were still excellent, and the maps and models themselves looked fine for a gamecube strategy game.

But here, the characters designs are mostly boring, the textures are awful; the game is terrible on an artistic and technical level. Maybe the battle cutscenes will be better than FE9, but everyone else looks awful in 2019.

Anyone who was properly interested in the game as a new entry in the series never cared too much for the presentation to start with, and now loads of features that look very interesting have been revealed, and the first proper battle videos were released so we now have a good idea of the most important aspect of the game - gameplay

Graphically it's still bad. But the actual gameplay and the amount of freedom this game gives you for your troops is insane. The story looks very promising as well.

Yeah. Fire Emblem is very character-focused, so the character portraits are probably the most important part of the visuals.

Reminds me of their attack animation in the gba games, taking out their front plate then putting it back.

Some of them will probably live but the caveat is that most of them will be late joiners or are attached to a certain house.

At least with regards to Ferdinand and Sylvain, I really don't see the same face at all. Their eyes are completely different, and Sylvain is a weird choice of all the examples to be made since he's one of the ones actually posing instead of just having his arms to the side like half of the guys have.
I'll grant that near everyone is some kind of anime pretty boy but being bothered by that is more a personal issue with the style than any technical failing. It's not like we don't have Lorenz and Dedue setting things apart, picking on an artist designing characters consistent to a style here then calling it sameface is like claiming that Sain and Matthew bled into each other. Switch underclocks on handheld to save battery. It always does it and there is no way to turn it off even if it is connected to the outlet via cable.

There's always some Euro country IS likes to rip all it's names from, for it's characters or for it's weapons

Dunno but it does detect the dock as it knows it doesn't have to use handheld screen and can use HDMI. I know that it uses some weird usb dock as some unlicensed docks were bricking consoles due to it. Funny thing is that even when docked the Switch is underclocked which is why there was that update that "increased" the performance of BotW and other games. You really would have to research that stuff as I just remember tidbids of information I got since release.
The underclocking might be also heat issue as while Switch uses pretty nifty cooling setup, it is still pretty compact and it will never be good as good old vents.

It's just a day-to-day basis dependent on activity points. On weekends, you can freely explore and talk to NPCs/manage equipment, or even grind infinitely on Normal difficulty, without spending them.
