cute protagonist
alot of missions

Is it actually fun? I used to like the old ones when they were new, but even brotherhood isn't fun to me anymore.

Yea, it has really great combat in contrast to older ACs, ship combat is a lot of fun too

Awesome Japanese dub

I didn't play it but it's a Ubisoft open world game in 2019 so I'm going to say nothing went right

it's half witcher 3 half assassin's creed
there are actual build varieties and different playstyles
its pretty grindy though, so don't expect to just plow straight through the story quests, you'll have to do side content

>alot of missions
too bad they all suck and are fucking boring

Nothing. It's Origins but shittier.

This.

>Everything. It's Origins but better.
Fixed it for you.

My favorite part about this Assassins creed game about assassins is when you stab someone in the neck and they lose 1/5th of their never ending life bar.
This is what ACneeded, i always thought stealth gameplay needed to be less rewarding in this stealth focuses series

Attached: 1548274909190.jpg (400x396, 28K)

minimal real life bullshit.

I just hated how an update broke some shit so I stopped playing.

How does one balance stealth instakilling in an RPG?
I'd say the main focus of the game is action so it's understandable

No GOTY edition, no buy. Fuck all AC games after II anyway.

it's definitely pretty goofy at times but it was a necessary change if they wanted balance between the three main styles of play
also, I think the assassination combo on big targets is cool as fuck to do

Attached: jxu3b27uij531.jpg (3024x4032, 1.98M)

It's pretty insidious when you think about what you do the entire game
>Talk to quest giver
>they talk
>you get objective
>go complete objective
>go back and collect reward
It's totally brainless. You can skip all the dialogue and still coast through everything because of how brainless it actually is to play. Hell, there's no fall damage anymore so you can literally hold forward and go in a straight line to wherever

>ubisoft charging for exp and power leveling
>modders say fuck you and make missions where you can level up quickly

Attached: barbaraisout.jpg (750x564, 68K)

and the game isn't even that pretty

>Hell, there's no fall damage anymore

isn't that something you unlock once you get a certain amount of vantage points?

I fucking give up. I've been EVERYWHERE and I can't fucking find Medusa, the Sphinx, the Argonaut, the harpies or any of that juicy shit. Just more and more filthy greeks.

Because you are a brainless ADHD retard who needs constant skinner box mechanics to simulate progression through the game. These ubishit open world games are all quite literally interchangeable.

>How does one balance stealth instakilling in an RPG?
>I'd say the main focus of the game is action so it's understandable
And this is why the AC series needs to end. It's not about being an assassin anymore. It's just "Creed".

>there's no fall damage anymore
wut

I haven't played in a while. What did this update do?

>You're a spartan
>But not really, so you dont get to wield a huge cool looking shield
Why you break my heart, Ubisoft?

no different from the side quest dialogue in TW3 and people went nuts over that slog
you also don't unlock no fall damage for a good while so you can't rely on it starting out

>between the three main styles of play
Man, who the fuck considers archery a 3rd style of play? Who the hell specs into something other than Assassin Damage? It ends up playing the same no matter what

Attached: Tried to Warn you.webm (1244x700, 2.77M)

Is there a crack for the ingame shop, or a mod that gives you the actual and complete experience from the start?

Since launch. You start out taking fall damage, it's just never lethal. Once you hit level 30 or something, you take no fall damage at all

Kinda, you take damage but can never die from falling no matter how high so it's pointless. The upgrade just removes any damage and stumbling from the fall.

if the game released as Not Assassin's Creed: Greek Adventure people wouldn't have so many complaints about it, but it also probably wouldn't have moved as many copies

>no different from the side quest dialogue in TW3
yes, very different
tw3 doesn't suck, odyssey sucks

My favorite part is when you shank a guy but he still has a sliver of his health yet so you have to chunk him with the gay dark souls-lite combat mechanics and alert the whole base.

I'd be fine if they just rebrand the next game in the series but kept going in the same direction of a bigger focus on action combat + actually worthwhile RPG mechanics

kotaku.com/assassin-s-creed-odyssey-players-are-creating-custom-qu-1835665370

the side quests in TW3 are full of nothing but hollow dialogue and meaningless choices, just like Odyssey
the only difference is that Odyssey actually gets shit for it

The customization, and the girl is cute.
In everything else, Origins was better.

LOOK AT KASSANDRA

Attached: Kassandra 3.gif (268x310, 1.89M)

And if they removed the fucking unbereable grind, or at least didn't paywalled the natural progression speed

No it's a boring mess. The combat is boring and even on the highest difficulty is mindless spamming of certain skills. There is 0 reason to stealth and you can clear entire encampments by running in circles until your kick skill recharges by just kicking everyone off a rooftop over and over. The AI is dumb as fuck and the game is extremely gear dependent with no weapon or item lasting more than maybe 10 minutes before it's useless because it's one level lower than the next item you find in a chest 5 feet from the other chest.

XP is useless as enemies level with you. In fact its BETTER to stay a lower level

From what I remember you can't add the same buff on an armor piece twice, so you spec assassin and archer damage because melee is ridiculously weak.

Yes, until a mission requieres you to be at a certain level and you are forced to face enemies of that level, like the mythical creatures.

It's a 40 hour game that's only fun for about an hour.

The Anons said that it was the greatest of all the ACs. And it was only because the amount of shit it had was nothing.

Attached: ac-odyssey-alexios-review.jpg (1280x720, 141K)

TW3 has actual voice ACTING. Not the flat dull phoned-in shit that the AC team probably had their interns record

I played it on easy and set enemies to be lower level to make it less tedious. the level up shit is just tedious and not actually difficult.

I have hope that they can fix it in the next game, seems to me the AC devs are learning every iteration nowadays and actually improving on stuff

Got the Nemean Lion on my first try on Nightmare difficulty while underleveled.

Someone should've warned it that I had soloed every Monster Hunter up to that point.

absolutely nothing
its the worst asscreed game since 3

The devs making the next one are the ones who made Origins, so it will probably be better.
The Odyssey devs have fucked off to make pretty much AC Odyssey 2, that franchise called Gods and Monsters.

>Assasins game
>story revolving around shadows and killing without being notice
>gameplay is about mass killings

Quantity over quality THE GAME

I enjoyed Origins so I pirated Odyssey. After about an hour and a half roaming around the island you start in I realized I didn't really want to play Origins again, so I uninstalled.

>Buy season pass on sale
>play Fate of Atlantis
>a bug in a fucking ESCORT mission prevents me from completing part 1
>I am unable to access the rest of additional content that I paid for because of a single bug in a single mandatory quest in the fist episode
Hahaha, never giving Ubisoft a single dollar again

>Quantity over quality THE GAME

But user, that's Breath of the Wild.

Can't you load a previous game?

This one too...and for some people that's fine. Not for me tho.

Might be good, who knows
At the very least the devs seem to have their priorities straight, too bad they didn't show a new AC at E3

They already said there wouldn't be an AC this year, so not surprised.

>b-b-b-but Nintendo!

fuck off

I might have, if I knew that the quest was totally fucked and leaving and coming back later wouldn't fix it.

I wish I knew who the statues represented. I mean, Athena and Hermes are pretty obvious, but sometimes you just see a statue of some guy.

Is it even a god? Might just be some statesman from the greco-persian war.

That's because you're incredibly shit at the game.
You always had to self impose challenge because there was never punishment for failure, and being spotted meant spending 5 minutes pressing X on enemies waiting in a conga line.
But most of the infiltration and assassination quests, especially the secondary ones required some planning.
For all the shit it got, rogue introduced the assassin on assasin hide and seek battle which is probably the most fun i had with an AC game since the novelty of II wore off

The game saves automatically like 5 saves at random intervals.

based originsposter
cringe

depends. is it in the agora?

Because XERXES IS THE KING OF KINGS

I never go into E3 informing myself of what will be shown, that way I'll at least have some semblance of suprise to feel

Is it in the...

It's in the everywhere you go in the fucking game. Apparently ancient greece was like 70% nameless marble statues. What if you prayed to a statue of fucking Kleon your entire life?

The overarching story in these games are just so dull. Origins was a very boring origin story of how the Assasin's came to be, which really only happens at the end as some really stupid cinematic where the woman who created it stares at the camera and throws out some dumb fucking exposition on why she created the order and dialog that is supposed to sound epic. and this game goes even farther back and doesn't deal with the concept of the assasin's at all. The modern abstergo (templars) vs assasin's thing is boring and I liked the earlier ones where that war was intertwined with present day and the past. these are just self contained adventures with boring characters and bad dialog. that's always been the case with all AC's but at least the overarching story used to be interesting. these games are bad, and I didn't even get started on the gameplay.

Attached: fall-of-empire-walkthrough.jpg (770x415, 35K)

They really dropped the ball with historical descriptions, i spent hours reading cool shit about Firenze, but since AC 3 maps stopped being tight urban interesting places, everything moved to the boring colonial setting and Ubisoft stopped caring about authenticity

You can fix the bug by setting yourself on fire with explosive arrows while near the guy you're escorting.

It´s a good rpg. Secondaries feel a bit repetitive but not below Skyrim tier.
Solid game and im not a fan to the franchise.

>>b-b-b-but Nintendo!

Nintendo is my favorite developer and Switch is what I game on the most. I have 70+ games on it. BoTW is not good.

Mario + Rabbids is the best Switch game.

ya, and I'm not about to lose hours of "progress" to fix a quest when I can just uninstall and play a better game. AC Odyssey is just mindless busy work, emphasis on mindless, this game requires no thought at all

>Kill level 22 cultist
>Reveal next cultist
>Level 44

I-I didn't want that Agamemnon set anyway.

Attached: Agamemnon.png (512x288, 198K)

The guy gets on my horse and I can take him straight to the drop-off, but nothing happens. The quest is Ubisoft-broken

I feel like Unity is the best in that regard. there is so many things to look at and investigate, misteries that you need to solve by looking at the environment etc. People think its a bad game because it ran like shit at release and still most likely does but its worth playing if you're in it for historical stuff.

I regularly kill mercs 20+ levels higher than me by cheesing with Hero strike It's totally fuckin busted

Horseshit. Are you not playing on Nightmare or something?

Oh for me he wouldn't follow me so I had to coax him by setting myself on fire across the entire map to the destination lmao.

Rate all AC games in terms of city design

>Revolutionary France
>Historical

Ah. You're one of "those" people. Soon people like you will marvel at Ubisoft's recreation of AC1's rendition of 2008.

I play on normal. Why the hell would I subject myself to even more spongier enemies?

I agree

nothing went right beside graphics

>but it was a necessary change
Why? Unity already brought the proper change needed to the system, why did we have to go to this action RPG degree of change and nerfing the most important part of the series into the ground? Just look at what Unity brought to the table.
>More emphasis on stealth.
>More emphasis on choosing how you want to assassinate someone.
>Less emphasis on spamming items like smoke bombs in the thick of it because enemies barely give you items from looting them now and stores are really the only way to resupply but they're all too far away from wherever you are at any given time to actually go to them.
>Tons of customizable armor that had a variety of stats to let you fine tune how you wanted your playstyle to be.
>Enemies were actually a threat early on and still posed some threat once you got towards endgame because they weren't complete pushovers, they actually did a decent amount of damage, and you couldn't just insta-kill them with counters.
>Parkour system gave you way more control.
I hate that Ubisoft basically treats Unity as the stepchild of the series along with Rogue when Unity was the one that actually tried changing things up for the better in an AC2 kind of jump for the gameplay, but because they rushed the game out the door for the money now they act like it's something to distance themselves from.

Serves you right for buying Ubishit

>Why would I make the game fun

Imagine complaining about how easy a game is and then defending playing on easy mode in the same breath

Nightmare is the only way to play. Every other option is for people who just want to see the story.

Attached: 0.jpg (480x360, 11K)

You're confusing difficulty with tedium

This is an unironic shill post

Attached: 20190419220457_1.jpg (2560x1440, 355K)

Ezio games > Unity > Syndacate > AC1 > Dog turd > the ones in the us

It's literally anti fun to fight the same exact enemies with 3 times the health.

Yea, Unity was the last time that the devs actually focused on improving gameplay systems. Now they are focusing on creating the biggest and emptiest open worlds so it takes 80+ hours to get through everything (a third or more of those 80+ hours being just going from point A to point B on a horse or ship of course) and I guess that is supposed to seem more impressive somehow.

Attached: 20190414173552_1.jpg (2560x1440, 448K)

All I'm getting from this is that you never played AC Odyssey the way it was meant to be played, so why reply?

You haven't played the same game as me so maybe your critique is valid for casuals like you?

I just love how in Origins/Odyssey, you can just climb up anything, regardless of if there are handholds. Just hold up and you'll climb anything without any thought

Attached: brainlet.jpg (800x450, 44K)

Dude I love odyssey but just buffing health bars is boring. I can beat almost every fight, it just xtends the time I have to waste fighting them.

I'd love to see a more condensed world filled with quality content and cool loot hidden away so exploration is worthwhile
They will have to redo pretty much everything that Odyssey had though, even if finding a weapon you can use in like 10 levels breeds anticipation, it's fucking stupid and I'd rather they take the souls route and just have stat requirements

I'd gladly take a few hyper detailed and interactive city blocks over an entire procedurally generated city and country side. Even if it means no more GRASS CUBES

Attached: 20190310083808_1.jpg (2560x1440, 694K)

can you enjoy this after playing any dark souls game?

So? You can tank hits all day on any other difficulty. If someone hits you twice on nightmare, you're fucked. It's the only way.

Did anyone actually play nightmare or are they just crybabies?

could not play origins till the end because it was so fucking boring and easy and dedenduk ayeet hayet. such a high quality and the fuck it up with the annoying audio, is this a problem with odyssey too?

Attached: 1533325456187.png (540x540, 416K)

pirated it.

Its OK, almost good. Frustratingly gated by level though. Enemies a couple levels above you cannot be defeated without cheesing. Its really annoying when you try and stealth a section and your assasination attack only takes like 10% of their HP. Quests are mostly boring filler. Game is way too big.

Basically its Witcher 3: Shovelware edition.

Sure, though I can appreciate the scale of Odyssey, ship combat would feel totally out of place if it wasn't for the map being huge
I do hope they make a standalone ship combat game at some point

>annoying audio
What do you mean?

>tfw multiplayer hasn't been in the past 4 games and has 0 population in the older games
It was one of the most fun and unique multiplayer experiences I've had, I really wish they'd bring it back. I was so disappointed when I learned the AC3 remaster didn't include multiplayer

Attached: 1550357713040.jpg (847x599, 47K)

Oh yeah, fighting giant demons is so much more boring than oneshotting the same guy 800 times.

Attached: assassins_creed_origins_trials_of_the_gods.jpg (960x540, 129K)

start at 1:03 youtube.com/watch?v=sc3SM9wPO8A

>I do hope they make a standalone ship combat game at some point
They are, Skull and Bones, but it's supposed to be primarily multiplayer with the "singleplayer" being some sort of Games as a Service thing that is part of the multiplayer world and gets rolled out slowly. From what I understand they also didn't learn anything from BF/Rogue and there's only going to be a hub world to walk around in, you can't explore islands like in the AC games, it's just ship stuff and the hub world.
pcgamesn.com/skull-bones/skull-and-bones-on-foot

AC:B was the only good iteration of the multiplayer though. Contested Kills alone ruined the multiplayer because if you were on the opposite side of the round and went for a stun the guy could just instantly kill you if he turned around at the last second or even just pressed X and you'd have to sit through a respawn timer instead of him getting stunned. It was infuriating. They also started prioritizing rooftop runners more and more with 3 and 4 and that was just awful on top of nerfing several abilities from Brotherhood like Smoke Bomb and Charge or introducing different things that did the same thing like Fireworks which were useless compared to a Smoke Bomb because the guy could still see you.

Oh, you mean repeating dialogue?
I don't think it's that obnoxious in this one.
But if you are playing on PC, just pirate it and judge it for yourself.
Bear in mind that the opening of the game sucks, it actually took me like 3 tries to get into it because the opening is just doing mundane errands, as opposed to Origins where you begin right in the middle of the action.

solid gameplay mechanics
fuckhuge world
fun combat

They've been delaying skull and bones hardcore after lots of people said they wanted content off ship and melee in boarding and actual singleplayer content.

How bout Odyssey and Origins?

I hope it does end up having them because a multiplayer only game would be dead in the water. Not having islands, melee combat, boarding, and just general exploration after those being part of the package before is the dumbest thing they considered.

I'd be fine with just some well balanced vs multiplayer with tons of customization and actual ship build diversity but since it's AAA I doubt that'll satisfy the masses

It's not getting released until 2020 now after being announced 2017 and they had nothing new to show this year at e3 so I can only assume they're making major changes after feedback.

Fuck that shit I want black flag 2.

no one:
literally no one:
NOT A SINGLE SOUL:
user: oDySsEy iS A GoOd GaMe

odyssey might have the most fluid and responsive feeling movement in a 3rd person game.
It's an odd thing to praise but i immediately noticed it. It just feels so smooth.

Fuck off back to twitter, faggot

Movement is one of the biggest aspects of AC so it makes sense, I'd love to see them add some less grounded systems though like hookshots from zelda or some flying mount for improved late game traversal that doesn't rely on fast travel

i fucking 100%d this shit. Got over 120 hours in it.
And now im thinking about doing it all over again with Alexios.

Does the story go the same way for Alexios as it did for Kassandra? Like this time Kassandra gets molested as a child so hard she turns inexplicably evil?

Do I get this or Origins during the steam sale? which one is better optimized?

Yeah, Alexios was great

ubishit worked hard on it

yes its the same, the roles are just swapped. But Alexios has such a goofy voice that it makes the tone of the cutscenes totally different

That's kinda lame, would have definitely replayed it if you actually end up playing as some integral member of the cult and you can personally slay that urchin girl

Repetitive af. World deels like its inhabited by zombies.
