name 2 modders that have done this
They do this shit all the time. Modders release a mod, other people improve it or use assets for their own mods, original creator forces them to take it down and then receive shit for it and then go all manchild and disable their mod
some modder took down all his mods because Trump won. I think it was Dragon Combat Overhaul and Civil War Overhaul people were most pissed about.

Imagine giving this type of person money
ApolloDown
They didn't work anyway
Sounds like drama.
Like when someone else uses his assets in their mod without his permission and the modder and he call them out on it and instigates a flamewar, and in the end deletes all of his mods out of spite.
It happens a lot.
>Skyrim
Yep no surprise, Skyrim modders are as bad as The Sims modders. A lot of Skyrim modders get emotional easily, can't avoid drama and act like women (many of them being women), particularly with the way they let their ego inflate this much. You don't see this shit happen as often for genres that appeal to the technical kind of autists like RTS, roguelike or vehicle simulations.
People like that mod games because they have the know-how and time to do it and it gives them attention from others on the internet (and sometimes money), not because they want to play their own mods and share them.
It's the curse of modders.
Any retro game modders like this?
That one unofficial essential patch for New Vegas that bad to be rolled into someone else's mod after the original author had an absolute meltdown over orange man bad.
People who make mods are naturally autists. Especially people who get into asm and code injection
>try installing mod for SimCity 4
>This mod won't work with a pirated copy! Installation will now exit until you purchase a legal copy of the game.
What a faggot.
I remember reading a really funny post on the Taleworlds forums (or maybe it was FSE) when they decided to stop letting server owners take donations to help run private servers.
Some guy entered the thread and claimed that it was all some scheme to fund a new tithe that Erdogan was demanding and pointed out that TW are actually shit developers and mods are the only reason anyone plays their games.
The thread got closed and he got banned but I wish I could find that thread again.
is this the one you mean?
I don't see the issue with those rules
No, I mean like this skyrim multiplayer mod niggers.
If I remember correctly, one of the only ways private servers could get anyone to donate was through offering "skins" (which were basically just in-game outfits but mixed up in a custom way).
Private Servers are the reason the games didn't die and while they mostly pay for themselves, all help was always appreciated and there was next to no way to impact gameplay using said skins. However this rule-change was basically brought about to bring the hammer down on 1-2 popular servers who weren't really in with the forum crowd and just did their own thing, and because of this autistic mods wanted to shut them down.
That being said, TW are notorious faggots for that sort of thing; they release game-breaking MP patches and give a fix to server owners who they like/owners who shill their stuff a lot and leave the rest to fix shit.
Because they have an inflated sense of ego which comes from them making something that lots of people like.
Think this is the one you meant
>Because they have an inflated sense of ego which comes from them making something that lots of people like.
Yeah, that's the big problem. The good modders are usually people that make something they want to use themselves and sharing it is an afterthought.
Or people that provide good frameworks for others to use because they want to see modding for their game grow. But those eventually quit because they usually expose themselves the most retarded parts of the community constantly asking the dumbest questions.
I don't get it. Paying for the game doesn't mean you are entitled to play on other people's fucking private servers.
Or is this something that happened on official servers?
I don't know about any of this, but it appears to be the official company putting down rules on how people can offer private servers.
Or they move on to actual developer jobs
>remember the shitty feeling of finding a mod I've been looking for but then finding out its been deleted, deliberately or not
>make sure whatever few mods I made would always be available up on dropbox so no one has to experience that disappointment if they're interested in my mods
You'd think every mod author would have had this experience and wouldn't restrict their mods or make sure they're always available to download somewhere, but I guess not, petty drama and egotism matters more to some, not simply making something to share with your game community freely.
>Fuck off from Warband and NW for 5 years while you work on Bannerlord indefinitely
>come back to lay down some new rules and restrictions on the server community that has kept your best title alive
Warband devs are fucking retarded
That reminds me.
>arthmoor got banned from leddit
>got really defensive and rude about people shitting on the patch mod for adding stuff
Pretty funny
Why are so many modders leftists?
What the fuck happened to the joy mod for bayonetta, I fucking brought the pc version for that mod
Should people pay for mods?
Offending people doesn't encourage them to feed their ego so they need to be as agreeable as possible.
>what is patreon
Mod author of 1429: La Guerre de Cent Ans, one of my favorite Warband mods, pulled it out due to drama I can't even know about since it's on the French internet
