No. The game is really cool, but the ending is too disappointing. If I stopped playing few hours before the ending, it probably would be in my top 15.

I like Nier. It's a fun game, an 8/10 in my book. But it's nowhere near even my top 50 list to be honest.
People talk more about 2b's bum, or the 2deep4u storyline than the actual gameplay which is sad because the gameplay is fun. Not perfect, but fun.

9S has heavy combos, you don't need to hack it's just there for people's the initial gimmick and people who want to burn through the second run with no effort

I can't, I put gameplay above all in my ratings (worth 70% of the grade) and Nier's combat is laughably phoned in, especially for a Platinum game. Story is cool enough, though I feel some narrative driven games like SOMA do a better job in thia department anyways.

No. I like it quite a bit, but while it pulls off some cool stunts as a whole it really doesn't do much for me. Ending E definitely got me, but very little else did.
It's more of a fascinating oddity than a game that impacted me. I appreciate Taro's willingness to go against expectations and break conventions, but the framework always feels half-assed.

No. Its pretty much Taros weakest game if it comes to story and he added too much cliche animeshit. All that screaming and forced drama got old way too fast. Its pretty clear he knew waifufags buy everything that has animesluts on the cover anyway, so I cant even blame him for halfassing Automata. Still a shame because the game was a blast up until the amusement park. After that it went downhill.

Nah. Gameplay is not good enough to carry this filler shit open world garbage. If the game was linear, with proper level design, artdesign and shorter, it would've been much better.
Also story was worse than other Taro's works. Not as bad as DoD1, but I mean that's not hard.
Also 9S was genuinely awful as a player character, with one of the worst movesets and feedback out of any action game characters.
Previous games had an excuse of shitty budget consisting of a can of coke and a bag of gum, but this time they had money to make something good. Oh well.
Meanwhile smaller studious manage to produce tighter games with even smaller budgets than the the previous NIER and DoD. It's honestly a clear display of Yoko Taro's incompetence as a game designer.

automata is too nihilistic to the point its boring and the melodrama falls completely flat when you realize that nothing in the story matters. the humanity's fate twist is known if you played the first game and the story revolves around robots and androids whose existence is inconsequential to anything. theres 0 stakes period. compare that to first nier. you need to take care of your sick family member boom instant personal investment to the story.
automata is a niche game who got to runaway success thanks to horny weebs worshipping 2bs ass. so it will remain in this awkward position of being popular game while also being in the fringe
