Same reason why Astral Chain isn't going to be on PC; sometimes console manufacturers front the cost of development for exclusivity.

Sony paid Fromsoft for exclusivity, to make you have to buy their console.

Modern consoles are literally just $300-400 paywalls that you need to pay to access some games because they aren't released on Windows/Linux.

remember dark souls on pc?

you will never get red dead redemption 2.

you will never get red dead redemption 1 for that matter.

can't you play it through that playstation now bs? I mean, sooner or later Nintendo will buy every software house, they already bought half of the microsoft vidya dept, Sony will still try to compete with the PS5 because "muh jap honor", but we will not see a PS6, the future is everything united under the Nintendo's roof

emulation kills the console fag.

There isn't going to be a PS6 because once you're at 4k/60fps, there's no real reason for a more powerful machine.

PS3 emulation is already pretty good, will probably be able to run RDR1 at decent fps on a powerful PC soon.

We will eventually get decent ps4 and Switch emulation.

Yuzu just needs to be multithreaded for the most part, and it would be able to run many commercial switch games on reasonable PCs.

Emulation development is like someone building a tower. They might spend months or years doing work underneath the ground, and to an onlooker it looks like nothing is happening, but then all the sudden, you have a tower.

consoles won't die until they're at 7 memory.

>is only just now able to run RDR1 at decent fps after almost ten years
>having to wait ten years to play RDR1

>eventually

Yuzu already runs many major commercial games with no problems.

Except poor performance, which would be fixed by making it multi threaded.

We basically already have a good functional Switch emulator, it just needs to be multi threaded.

Because it's the only reason people buy PS4.

A ton of people just bought PS4s because FFVII remake is coming out exclusively on it at least for probably a year.

PS4 can't even handle 1080p 60fps. When next gen's life cycle will come to its end 144 fps will be the standard already.

Still better than paying for DRM machine only to have access to one or two games.

I wouldn't call them "people".

i think the xbox emulator is actually further when it comes to emulating RDR1

H O S T A G E W A R E

PC is dead. Nothing but cheaters, exploits, bots, scripts, hax, pirates, doxxers, lagswitches, and trumptards spamming mics and chats.

It's on PS Now, and anyways PS4 emulation has made leaps and bounds in the past year. Just wait a year more to play every PS4 game for free.

Day 3,331! Give it up for day 3,331!

Because Sony was paying for exclusives before it was cool.
