I know this is not a technology board or a customer service one but I don't know where else to ask. To be quick I downloaded a pirated version of Pic related, which works fine unless I try to set it in a language other than en_US, prompting me to update origin. (Which I don't even have installed, by the way.) I don't know anything about the Sims, I just wanted to please a family member. Does someone know why it doesn't work when I modify the game's language in the CODEX cfg file?
likely because you downloaded the version that only contains the english localization. this cuts down on the file size. to change localization the game would have to download additional files from origin. there's nothing you can do but find another pack of it that's multi-language.

That's what I assumed at first but I even tried to use a language pack associated with the game I found on Codex, and it still didn't work. I'll try to find a version with the language pre-included. Thanks anyway Or I could wait until there's a working magnet for Island Living just as you said even though I don't know what it refers to I'm not the one wishing to play it. It's my niece
