A massive autistic crossover game with different gameplay styles from other sega games, a fuckload of playable characters and light rpg elements. one style could be a classic sonic game, another a beat em up, maybe an rpg, the possibilities are endless.

They really don't have to do anything to the game. The whole purpose of Speed Battle was to promote Sonic Forces, which nobody plays anymore.

Sonic Battle was good for the Gameboy Advance, but I think it's best that SEGA returns to it's fighting game roots and make it a Virtua Fighting/Fighting Vipers game, like Fighters Megamix.

Sonic is the 'main' franchise so it should have more character representation, the same as how Smash Ultimate has the most Mario characters.

It isnt just Kishimoto and the guy of "DASHING LIKE A MANIAC".
Iizuka is also a problem because he is more miss than hit when judging things, like getting the mario audience with lost world or team mechanic in sonic racing and having only sonic characters. Iizuka should take a break, have someone else in charge and then get back to do level designs and give some ideas but never the one calling the shots

Billy is weird character to represent. Puyo Puyo, Yakuza, Sakura Wars, Phantasy Star etc all have bigger importance to sega's legacy. I think his the series is pretty much forgotten at this point so there no point in putting him over the others now.

He was only really in Sega All Stars Racing cause Sega back in the late 2000s didnt think their japanese games were marketable to westerners.

If you only want currently relevent sega series, your variety is going to plummet.

The team mechanic was fine from what I heard, it's TSR having little budget and being made with SUMO's B-Team is what killed it. It should be noted that Kishimoto was literally the director of Forces, Lost World, and both Storybook games. The only good game he directed was Colors. Kishimoto is currently the worst thing happening to Sonic at the moment. Fact is, if it wasn't for Iizuka, Mania wouldn't have been possible and TSR would have likely been far worse than what it was. He literally came up with the team idea because he wanted to win with his kid. That, to me, is a sign that, unlike Nakamura and Kishimoto, Iizuka actually gives a shit about making Sonic a respectable franchise with some heart in it. If Iizuka leaves Sonic Team, Sonic games will forever be shit, I can guarantee that much.

From what I saw, yes the team mehanic is alright, but isnt the thing people wanted in a new Sega/Sonic racing game, and that really made people ignore the game along with the roster

And I am not saying Iizuka should leave, but he cant be in charge alone. He seems that kind of guy that is a really good hearted person, but being a "boss" he isnt for him. It's true he did good things like Mania, but he is also responsible for some stupid decisions and even silly plot things like "super forms for hedgehogs only", or dividing Modern and Classic characters like that.
If there was something he was really, but really fucking good was level design with alternative paths. He learned that from S3 and in 3d he tried to do that with Heroes, which is no wonder why he keeps pushing Heroes levels

Also, Iizuka really isn't the boss, the other two retards have far more influence over the mainline games, and I wouldn't be surprised if many of the canon decisions were also made by them.

Iizuka is a total Yes Man who's only there for the salary at this point. He could've stopped every single stupid choice by Kishimoto or Nakamura (to a lesser extent anyway; I think Nakamura gets too much shit) if he really wanted to, but he didn't. In fact, he was heavily involved with the Avatar's development according to one interview. So he definitely was working on Forces too. Which means, he either agreed with them and really IS that bad at making decisions with Sonic, or... he simply doesn't care. Neither scenario is very good, is it?

Now I'm not gonna use him as a scapegoat for everything bad that's happened to Sonic. I've known for a long time that Sonic being shit was always a group effort at Sonic Team. But he definitely didn't make an overall good impact on the series as a person in a position of decision making.

tl;dr: Mr. Ohshima is just a nice man who doesn't want to speak ill of his friend. Iizuka doesn't know what the fuck he's doing 95% of the time when it comes to Sonic, and it shows.
