If you're looking for philharmonic renditions of Zelda classics, look up Chad Seiter, but you won't find that here.
Baranosky's job was to amalgamate the essence of CotND into a zelda motif. Although a few of the early tracks are taken quite literally in the execution, the ost does exactly what it's supposed to do, even if the music isn't stellar.

I am obscenely mad at the music. And like, i was not mad at the music at first, but I put on that ost for the new zelda one and it was okay. But its all the same shit, all of it. I noticed so much recycled tunes and everything. I understand thats a core part of music, especially viseo game music, but god damnit did it not sit well for this ost.

The music is also not very complex. The zelda parts of the music were far better than the CotN parts

Yes, OP! I've been saying this since it came out. These remixes suck dick because every instrument is trying to out do each other and their clashingly different. There's no synergy at all in most of these remixes just loud noises on top of loud noises. The only remotely good thing about these tracks is that they were expertly composed by a genius. It's just some noobie making the remixes decided to make everything loud and obnoxious to make zoomers think they're epic songs. This OST is basically the musician dangling keys in an infants face.

Bland orchestral compositions are the worst of the worst. Late 2000s to mid 10s saw this trend the heaviest, I still can't remember a single memorable track from something like Resident Evil 5.

this game was my first exposure to super mario world as a child and i didn't even notice how bad the soundfont was cuz i didn't have the prior game to compare it to. but it is pretty shit.

Yeah I think the problems is the guitars are real & some of the samples are decent but the vast majority of the samples are absolute shit that you'd find built into the cheapest brands of old keyboards & many of the synths are obnoxiously grating on the ears. I don't even know what that knock off chiptune shit is that's clearly not utilising a proper gameboy/snes/whatever chip. probably some cheap shitty VST.

so the tracks mostly just sound like he downloaded a midi and changed the tones of the tracks like i used to do when I was 10. Zelda tracks require good strong instruments with rich juicy tone that can preserve the atmosphere. his remixes just sound like cheap babies first FL studio project shit.
all so a bunch of the arrangements use crappy preset club beats that don't suit zelda.
