I think this is my problem too, feels like I need a ton of room just to start up a drift. I think a lot of it might come from staying forward for most of the jump, then veering sideways, but either I can't execute it or that doesn't exactly work.

This brings back memories of watching my cousin do the rainbow-boost thing and helplessly falling behind in Diddy-Kong racing.

But these are very minor complaints to the great looking maps, good story mode and great game play.

Ive gotten 4 trophies in AM so far taking small breaks to do other stuff. Crash Cove gave me the most trouble. But winning a trophy is worth it. Point of mention i havent played CTR in years. Like since the early 2000s. Id say go for it.

Resolution is low in handheld. Performance is good. Mario Kart is better looking and cleaner. Crash is a little busy looking but more fun.

that and 70% of the time i'd go for it the AI would fire an item at me and ruin the attempt

I'm moving into Cortex's area right now. The hardest by far was Roo's tubes, but everything else has pretty much been a cakewalk. What I've been doing is....

When I get there with 1000% boost it just doesn't jump, then after 10 laps I turn around frustrated and try it a couple times starting from the other side of the pipe with 0 boost and I fucking jump so high that I skip the turbo pad inside the shortcut

I'm using Crash and kicking ass but that's because everyone sucks, speed characters really have everything going for them this time around because jumping removes their turning handicap entirely and Tiny can make EVERY corner on Tiny Arena.

So what are the chances we'll get a physics patch in the future? Beenox seems to be good at listening to criticism, if the improvements over the development cycle of the game and even the online patch they're already working on is anything to go by, so I wouldn't put it past them to go that far either. The game is great, but it does suffer from the exact same problem as N.Sane Trilogy where the changed physics really fuck veterans (including myself) up. At least it has a ton of extra content to make up for that. Though oddly enough I feel like the CNK tracks were better suited for these new physics thanks to being new.

Honestly, they all free pretty balanced. Speed, Accel and Handling all have strengths depending on the track. Balanced is the only one I feel is kind of out of place right now but that's just me. Speed is probably the best over-all outside of the few tracks where Handling and Accel can better take turns without sacrificing their momentum.

I was hoping for CNK NF actually, since my PS2 disc reader is a bit fucky and i don't have a time to set up a PS2 emulator, but i guess CTR NF + CNK maps is enough...

It’s a known issue with the Crash trilogy on the switch since it launched, a couple frames of delay compared to other versions. Hoping a different dev team means they’ll avoid the same issue with CTR.

Using the brake in midair lets you quickly change directions without losing boost. Braking while grounded does make you lose boost though, so try not to do that too much.

It felt more or less the same to me until I got to Cortex Castle and Hot Air Skyway, I had to redo those several times each. Oxide also throws out tons of red potions whereas before I remember it being mostly green ones, so that was a pain in the ass.
