The original story was very tight and self contained with no dangling plot threads. There really wasn't anywhere for the series to go and any attempt at a sequel could only serve to diminish the effect of the original. And that's WITHOUT having the gonads to retcon lelouch's death.

I think one of CG fault is that he switched to Lelouch so quickly and it's for the sake of woman Lelouch end up "killed" anyway. Wish they keep him as Lelouch's nemesis.

I liked him. It wasn't about Marianne, it was about his duty and loyalty to the person he was supposed to protect. Having him switch sides helped the "Zero is just Geassing us and using us" plot which was pretty weak even with him and he was a perfect character to remain with Emperor Lelouch..
