Is Spelunky anything like Steamworld Dig?

>At first Richard's emphasis on April 4th is just the day Jacket started killing
>After playing the sequel you realize its also the anniversary of Beard's death and thus was important before he put on the mask
How did two drunk swedish hipsters in their basement make a story 10x better and deeper then a AAA game with a whole team of writers.

DIdn't you make this thread yesterday?

>no Katana Zero

literally two of those are worth playing
seriously my favorite game of all time
i think it was tuesday but it got nuked

They are literally all 10/10 games except Bastion which is 9/10 imo

Have you actually played them all for a significant amount of time or do you just have bad taste?

>turbo
>not united forever or even 2

Don't recognize most of them

Hotline Miami 1 is vastly better than 2

i've played most of them i was just giving you a hard time, the only one i really don't like is spelunky

HLM2 is better in every way.

prove it, pussy magnet

>bastion
For me, it's transistor

Sure, besides
>story
>music
>levels
>characters
>gameplay

is this a 3x3 thread?

Transistor is just Bastion with a stop button, change my mind. Pyre is really cool regardless of what people say. I loved playing fantsasyball.

Scores out of ten, question marks for games I haven't played.

Forgot to mention, 5 is average.

Thumper and Nex are barely below average, a bit unremarkable, Spelunky is an asshole game, Hotline miami 2 is a step back from 1 (which I already didn't like too much), bastion is one of the best indies of all time, and meat boy is upstanding and oustanding. The others looked too boring for me to play.

How can one man's taste be so horrendous, I'm actually curious

thanks for clarifying that a 5 out of 10 is average

Story/Atmosphere: Pyre > Transistor > Bastion > Hades (because the story doesnt really come until 2020)
Gameplay: Hades >>> Transistor > bastion > Pyre
Overall: Transistor > Hades > Bastion > Pyre
All are 9/10 though.
>best things about each
Pyre: Soundtrack
Transistor: The world
Bastion: Saving Zulf
Hades: Boon system
>worst things about each
Pyre: Sports ball gets tedious
Transistor: lots of walking
Bastion: All the Wilds enemies
Hades: Epic Games Store

Where to begin?
>memorable characters instead of mute ryan gosling
>Story expands upon 1's story beautifully. Explaining some stuff, diving deeper into its themes and giving more questions
>levels take longer then 5 seconds to beat
>better soundtrack with a wider range of artists
>level editor
>community created memes

I agree that Hotline Miami 2 was a lesser game since it took the windows too far to the point of almost ruining all the new cool shit they tried, but disagree with everything else you said.

HLM2 is a much more enjoyable game when you realize that the peek is an integral part of the game (despite not being used almost at all in HLM1)

The levels are just much more varied, challenging, and enjoyable, and the inclusion of hard mode really spices up the game. I also enjoyed the soundtrack more. Over half of HLM1 feels like a glorified tutorial after you beat HLM2; I mean it's a great game, but it's hard to go back to after playing HLM2

Oh and dont forget this

Someone didn't play Thumper in VR.

stop shilling this reddit-tier garbage. japanese games will always be better than indie shit.

absolute shit taste

is n++ worth playing if i think n is shit?

I would replay thumper if I had VR. It seemed really barebones and basic though, the movements didn't sync up with the music as I assumed (I was expecting audiosurf) and the final boss level is a cocksucker who shifts time.

I'm not sure what's even disagreeable about these opinions. You can articulate yourself.

Just started Celeste last night. Liking it a lot so far

Come get some real taste.

Based. Trackmania sucks tho.

Whats so good about bastion? I played it 4 - 5 years ago on the hard difficulty and did the challenges. I like the art and I remember the gameplay being fun, but the only memorable part was the narrator which I didnt personally care for, even though it was well done. Wasn't there some twist in the story about the story looping back on itself? It'd be like a 6 or a 7 for me. Spelunky on the other hand is a straight 10 and probably my favorutr game from the 7th gen. The sequel will be the reason I finally get a PS4, though I am excited to play Bloodborne finally.

Literally this. I haven't bought a AAA title since 2013. I mainly buy Japanese deved games or Indie games.

pretty based not gonna lie. From what i've gathered OP is a retard who thinks games actually age and has to have the newest shiniest variant to stay hip.

Terraria is literally the best game of all time
