I do well in school myself. I have a bachelor's in Applied Behavioral Science and a TESOL certificate I recently acquired, but I'm dragging my feet searching for a job. Honestly I got the certification after coming home from Japan in 2016, not knowing what the fuck I wanted to do with my life. I just said "fuck it, I want money but I don't want to work in fast food or retail.". Literally I'm just drifting and too lazy and distracted to commit to anything. I hate it because Yea Forums's culture is basically dead now with the wave that came over from the fappening + others, even the autism couldn't contain it.

I think even working at google moot could have moderated a nice anime board with like 15k users or handed it off to someone reliable, and the culture would have persisted.

The way it happened was honestly the worst possible outcome. The entire site is overrun with garbage politics infested on both sides by meme ideologies, all the boards are unusable not just Yea Forums, and all my old friends from Yea Forums have moved on to either discord or other niche sites or just gone on with their lives.

We could have had something much better than what happened. Yea Forums didn't deserve this.

I have never used Yea Forums due to my incredible dislike of anime but I do understand where you're coming from.

I don't think moot could have fought what has happened to this place. 2016 was something unreal. Your solution would have done it but would have left so many of the other boards out in the cold and I feel that more than just Yea Forums could be salvaged. A cull of many of the boards would have been good. That way the moderation could focus on fewer boards that attempted to get politicized and we may have withstood the influx of Reddit and the fallout from the election. You're right that Yea Forums alone would have ensured that all the cancer was gone and could never take root again.

Then they would flee to 7+1chan like what happened in the actual past, regardless. But little do they know that the FBI are even more active there than here.

And even worse, since Yea Forums still exists no other alternative will ever take root, and all the kids just use discord now.
