Invaders almost always treat royalty with a minimum level of respect historically. Even Genghis Kahn gave conquered female royalty the offer of joining his harem or being put to death. If you let your soldiers rape royalty it gives them ideas that maybe your own rule isn't particularly sacred, it's bad for management.
