I think that's just speculation. I mean, I wouldn't be surprised you could get up to 8 during the school phase, but the game could very well only end up giving you the two with the highest affection levels (or whatever the fuck) after the timeskip. It would be weird to recruit the entirety of another house save 1-3 students, who the fuck would there be to fight during the war phase?

I would fucking love it if this happens with all the time-traveling shenanigans, but knowing how clean IS is this will never happen.

It's definitely been confirmed that anyone you recruit in School Phase is usable in War Phase.

I did like that. Amalthus was legit a man who wanted to do good in the world but descended into madness after seeing the horrors of the world repeat themselves over and over, especially when the biggest horror manifested from his malignant disdain of everything around him.

Her standing with Claude doesn't carry a lot of weight for me. Other character intro's show plenty of students hanging out with their classmates like Hubert/Petra, Dedue/Ashe, etc. The reason why they're probably together is because they were having a conversation similar to the ones you'd see between units in the Barracks or My Castle.

I personally don't feel that anyone in the Golden Deer carries the same loyalty to Claude that Hubert and Dedue have for their respective house heads. Between either Hilda or Marianne being route exclusive, I feel again that it's Marianne but not because of her loyalty to Claude but more on the chance that she harbors animosity towards the other houses.
She has an unknown crest, is adopted (so likely dead parents), "cursed", and future Edelgard carrying an axe with her crest engraved in it which seems to spell out to me that her family has had beef with the Adrestian Empire. On the other hand, I can see Hilda being the second in command only because she likes having others do the work for her.

Here are the verifiable facts in terms of the game, and the facts of the leak(as what is proven to be mentioned there, not what is confirmed/deconfirmed).

Linhardt is only confirmed as an existing character, as is everyone else the leak has mentioned aside from a nameswap of two teachers.
His romancable status relating to the MC or other characters is not confirmed, although it is implied he has an S support with Edelgard.

The leak mentioned 5 female supports and 1 male support for gay options: Sothis, Rhea, Dorothea, Edelgard, Mercedes and Linhardt. None of them have been confirmed romance options as of yet either way expect Mercedes and only partially. The leak about Sothis was a bit disproven since it specifically said she(and Rhea) would be non-playable, but romancable anyway for a first in the series.

It can't be helped, in general with being the first new mainline game after Fates with all of its criticisms, the leaks on different sites and what people claim are leaks, and handling ANY press with basically the complete opposite of how they promoted Fates, it's near impossible to tell what to expect with just a casual glance.

Even ignoring the leaks entirely, with NoA/E not even trying to do basic shit like update their website, you're stuck with translations of NoJ just to learn anything outside of like 2 trailers at all.

It just occurred to me that we don't know anything about DLC at ALL about Three Houses. At this point in time with the 3DS games we knew their DLC plan. Maybe the backlash against Echoes' DLC was so big that they're not talking about DLC until closer to release, or maybe they're not doing DLC at ALL for Three Houses.

Echoes' DLC was stupid.

They split the grinding DLC into two different packs of 3 maps each one, rather than just 3 universal maps like Awakening and Fates.

10 -individual- final tier class DLC. They didn't come with maps or anything, just the class change itself.

1 pack with 4 map DLCs (kind of like the Fates ones with premade teams)

and finally 2 DLC packs with 4 extra characters from FE Cipher.

They also for the first time sold everything in a single season pass bundle, rather than spreading it out and splitting it into seasons, so right alongside the game's launch there was a 40$ bundle.

Pro/Mini will be announced by august and out by september. They've got a lot of promotions ending right before that and suspiciously none that end after that except the WHOLE FUCKING YEAR OF ONLINE FROM TWITCH PRIME WHO DO THEY EXPECT TO FUCKING BUY IT so it's clear they've got something to show us around that time.

Really, the only DLC that was better executed than previous ones was the Cipher units, since they had a recruitment mission and were actually completely integrated into the game, with support conversations, appearing like other units in the save statues with unique dialogue and such, none of the incomplete implementation of past characters in Awakening or the Amiibo ones in Fates.
