When has Sega even remotely hinted at the possibility of a Sonic Adventure remake, aside from Iizuka's incoherent and contradictory ramblings. You'll get an Adventure port to modern consoles that somehow manages to fuck up the physics and lighting worse than battle, and you're gonna like it.

Why would you even want it to happen? Modern Sonic Team is fucking shit and a remake of Adventure 1 by them would just end up being another mediocre-at-best title to add to the pile.

They really are. Unlike Crash and Spyro who are normal platformer characters Sonic is stuck on the gimmick meme of Gotta Go Fast. So the fanbase will never accept a game for Sonic that isn't this one note gimmick. Sonic cannot truly try any actual variety. Sonic is basically Star Fox that lasted longer series wise. So there you go. Sonic could be on his way to retirement as the face of Sega just like how Alex Kidd also got retired to make room for Sonic himself. It's just that now it's time to say goodbye to the blue blur and that incoming bad live movie will make the decision even easier for both Sega and burned out fans tired of Sega screwing up intentionally or not (and I bet it's intentionally they want Sonic to go away already they weren't happy that Sonic Forces sold well).

In this case, it absolutely wouldn't. As unfortunate as it is, Iizuka is still a better choice for leading the series than Nakamura (who'd prefer the series to be like Final Fantasy) or Kishimoto (who'd prefer the series to be like Mario).
There's really no winning at this point. Sega of Japan would be better off just giving the entirety of the franchise to Sega of America, but I doubt that will ever happen.
