Fire adds a damage over time effect.
Ice slows down the opponents stun recovery for longer combos.
Wind heals you as you deal damage.
Depending on what support characters you choose, it'll increase your max health.
There's other mechanics in there as well. It's a bit deeper than I first thought after playing for a few hours.
