Final Fantasy VII and honestly it's not even close, Chrono Trigger must be one of the most overrated games of all time, there are people that actually think it's the best game ever made, I can't wrap my head around that shit.
Chrono Trigger was a fantastic game with a ton of polish and a beautiful art direction, and its gameplay was great. It can still be picked up and enjoyed today, where VII needs a remake to bring it up to speed in current year.
FFVII was an ugly af game with a decent story and decent gameplay and a great soundtrack butchered by horrifying midi shit. It was still better than its other competition (other early PS1 JRPGs) and it came out at the perfect time and on the perfect platform to become a viral sensation. But it was a downgrade on the SNES trilogy in every way as an RPG.
I hate silent protagonists in JRPGs.
I can understand them in non-story driven games, but having everyone talk and the hero just standing there like a retard makes no goddamn sense.
The excuse is that silent protagonists are there for you to self-insert, but that's still dumb. Cloud's whole ordeal of being an outcast, wanting to bang Tifa, thinking that if he were more like Sephiroth the would have a chance, then leaving his hometown only to be an underachiever, then become too embarrassed to take off his mask when he arrived at his home town, all these things are far more relatable and easier to self-insert into than some mute Goku clone time traveling.
Chrono Trigger has soul
But FF7 has charm
basically this
the trump card that VII will always have over CT is that Cloud is a character and Chrono isn't
FF7 has soul and charm

FF 7, Chrono Trigger is the most overrated JRPG i've ever played. I played both of them a decade after they came out so I have no nostalgia
I was disappointed that Pat chose Chrono Trigger over FFVII on last podcast. Woolie was given because he's a surface level faggot but Pat actually cares about JRPGs.
Ff7 has a better soundtrack so i like it more
I think even people who prefer CT know that FFVII has the better OST.
they both have songs I can remember off the top of my head. Can't say that about most games
Chrono Triggered
i prefer final fantasy mystic quest
i don't care for ff7 like all the plebs do
>the guy who doesn't answer the question that was asked
Our board has already decided, NieR Automata > Chrono Trigger > Final Fantasy VI > Final Fantasy VII
because it was a bullshit question
Cause Chevy didn't make a 327 in '55, the 327 didn't come out till '62. And it wasn't offered in the Bel Air with a four-barrel carb till '64. However, in 1964, the correct ignition timing would be four degrees before top-dead-center.
If I was limited to a single playthrough, FFVII. It's simply a larger game with more to do and you can get more out of one run of the whole thing.
Overall, I like Chrono Trigger more because it has superior replay value and its additional endings and content make for a more enjoyable experience over the long haul.
>I can understand them in non-story driven games, but having everyone talk and the hero just standing there like a retard makes no goddamn sense.
This. And you know what's even worse? When the game has voice acting like the first Jak and Daxter or Zelda Breath of the Wild. I will always resent mute characters unless they got reason to not speak like Caim from Drakengard. On the whole it's just a tired retarded and just BAD idea for a videogame especially a limited linear console one.
No we haven't. I didn't vote on that because I don't need to have my opinion validated like you dorks.
CT is more enjoyable with a better story/cast and fast paced combat. But FF 7 has more content
FF7 is for faggy weebs. Chrono Trigger is for edgy weebs I'm an edgy weeb irl
>faggy
>edgy
wtf is the difference
there's nothing edgy in CT
disagree that CT has a better story or cast
