Probably, I really like VS though and this seems like a downgrade beyond having more than a dozen people to play with online.

Thankfully not in the usual fighting game downgrade way though, this looks really good and even though most characters I like are missing the cast is a good baseline for the series coming back. I just miss the sword meter and state of nothingness along with Gaira, Kazuki, Enja, Basara and Yunfei.

Also whether or not it has legacy support on PS4 is a deal breaker until Steam release.

I think there is just no point in trying to compete with MK desu. Everything has been done before as well, so everyone competes for better production values which SNK can't afford/aren't quite capable of yet. Like a horizontal and vertical slice would be nice (decapitation will never happen, some Japanese crime(s?) make that super controversial), but they probably realise that won't shift copies more than if they put the same efforts into other areas.

Almost certainly true, but the fact I literally found myself trying to skip the super cutscenes in Xrd is part of why I dropped that shit and went back to XX/other games.
