Trading is sorta similar to Freelancer's, but with a few extra caveats.
First is that prices have some small fluctuations off the main selling price. Those prices go way up if the system has a storm affecting it.
There is a sort-of supply and demand. The more you buy from a station the more their selling price goes up, the more you sell the more their buying price goes down. Both prices obviously go down over time (commodities have a production and consumption time for this).

There's definitely a niche for a freelancer-like game. X games tend to have shitty combat, and Star Citizen is just feature creep: the game plus it has way more of a multiplayer focus.
