Still can't be topped
Animal Crossing is the only series I can think of that has autistic boomers that only like the first game despite several games after coming out and being way better.
I swear nintendo chose that shitty yellow on purpose for being late to a game and having to pick up the players choice version
nah they arent all really better. animal crossing after the first game was 2 steps forward 1 step backwards
Got the Jap version with e-Reader cards. Bretty good.
its to make it stand out.
thats why PS1 had the neon green for their greatest hits
AC GC is basically the black sheep now. It just has a totally different "feel" to the other games despite having basically the same gameplay.
i went back to the gc version too.
the music, nes games, npc dialogs and acre system really make more comfty than the sequels
IM GLAD YOU ENJOY THE GAME user
All they would have to do is let us use the original music, sound palette, and menu style in the new games and I'd be happy.
Meanwhile, Yurop gets an almost classy looking case.
The perfect Animal Crossing would have the dialogue, interactivity, map size, terrain generation, atmosphere and musical style of GameCube; The lore and interactivity with special NPCs of Wild World; And the customization, QoL improvements and online of the newer titles.
Too bad that'll never happen.
hire this man
A big fuck you for being a cheap skate.
Oh yes of course the shitty topdown camera and the 3 or so measly forgotten extras like NES games is enough of a reason to say its the best one.
New games have Wi-Fi, better pattern customization, more unlockables, more items, better customization, more options and gameplay features, more characters and more replay value. But nah, fuck all that shit, I want muh acres back.
Just admit you have boomer autism and back down already.
>despite several games after coming out and being way better
t. retarded zoomer that's never bothered looking deeper into the games than his 10 minute play sessions

Keep in mind that this is coming from someone who has played every mainline AC and doesn't actually dislike any of them besides City Folk. Each game has its pros and cons. It's just that, for me, GameCube did a lot of things the best.
*sips* Yep... for me its the Gamecube 'un.
This is what you sound like. For your sake I hope you follow your own mantra and leave the rest of us alone in New Horizons.
Top down is better than the rolling log. The acre thing isn't really necessary especially nowadays where it could be a smooth pan. Being able to look up at the sky in the new titles is good, but the log has the side effect of making things feel smaller and spareser.
I am not that user and largely agree with you except on the camera aspect, and I think the art style, sounds, and music of the first game are generally superior.
Wow swirly patterns on the ground defintley make the orginal game far superior than anything that came before it, you sure got me user.
Wild World alone is already better than the original game.
>No full box art
OH NONONONONO
What is wrong with gamecube fags? Luigi's Mansion, Sunshine and Windwaker fags all have this autisitc obsession with their games that they fail to accept later games in the series as being superior?
>pick out weakest point
>only address that one
Am I crazy or do the colors in this game actually feel somewhat richer than the later titles
GC felt like the last time Nintendo really cared about awesome production values, so the GC titles have a certain polished sheen to them that their later games don’t.
Yes because when it comes to polished games Mario Sunshine is the first thing that comes to mind.
Sorry your Mom sent you to a group home champ. But Im glad we got to see your home movie.

Wild World did do a lot of things better, but it took the biggest hit in terrain generation. (Among other things like holidays, events, glowing spots, etc) This is fine because it's a 2005 handheld game so you obviously can't expect it to have all the variation of GameCube.
The problem is that every game that came after based the terrain generation on WW's instead of improving on the first game's. AC towns used to have tons of variety with set pieces like giant waterfalls, islands in rivers, a lake with a dock and lily pads, holding ponds, and up to three levels of elevation. Now the only variation is what shape the river is and maybe a small pond or two.
City Folk and New Horizons brought cliffs back but they're nothing special compared to how they were in GameCube. I could be wrong but based on what I've seen NH is basing its terrain generator on WW's just like every other mainline AC since.
Grid system just feels better, I don’t know why
topped
only improvement in the original is the dialogue, but playing the original after playing new leaf makes it feel like so much is missing
>only improvement in the original is the dialogue
basically the best part
I agree here
>basically the best part
that's your opinion man, the best part for me was exploring other anons villages and going to the island with them
How does it have a different feel?
I would be way more interested in building things in NL if the map was more interesting
there are neat little spots in the original like little nooks in the cliffside and secluded places where the river meanders, or next to one of possibly multiple waterfalls, cool overlooks on the cliffs that stick out, in NL basically all you have are flat areas that look inviting because there's a ring of trees there, or they're surrounded by river on 3 sides
It's the camera, music, and artstyle.
>How does it have a different feel?
Because everyone here played it when they were 12, before they became sad and jaded
I am neither sad nor jaded, have enjoyed all of the AC titles, and think that ACGC has a different feel because of in addition to the spontaneity of it.
>Top down is better than the rolling log.
retard
>Top down is better than the rolling log
Lost most interest for me once I discovered how to cheat myself any items I wanted
WW was portable, blathers wasnt useless, the inventory was bigger and you could type messages on a touchscreen, and you didnt have to load into acres every 5 seconds
I will never be able to enjoy Animal Crossing like I did as a kid on summer vacation, waking up every day to play Animal Crossing on the Gamecube.
I miss it bros.
Explain why you disagree
Cheating generally diminishes satisfaction yes
I mean lets look at it from a gameplay perspective. What exactly does a top-down perspective have over the log perspective in terms of gameplay? Because the way i see it, its just a matter of cosmetic preference.
Neither one really impacts gameplay all that much, although the log does let you see the sky simultaneously and have a greater view of the things behind you.
Log can be pretty shit for fishing in the river though, especially in NL where the curve is the most intense and a lighting effect was added to the water. I'm not happy with the log returning in NH but at least they toned it down to Wild World levels. The curve was just ridiculous in NL.
I think the only thing the Gamecube version did better was the music.
Of course, it was the first one and for a game like Animal Crossing, your first experience with it will always be the best one. Especially if you were younger and could see the neighbors as little virtual people instead of NPCs with X number of possible interactions
SUCH DAMAGE CONTROL
HOW WILL user EVER DEFEND HIS SHIT TASTES?
Did you mean: Pokémon?
Sneed
gc version has the best music
gc version has weeklong events that you can interact with like morning aerobics and babysitting the light house
gc version lets you have more than 4 gyroids active at once
gc version *might* have better holiday variety?
gc version you're not the mayor and aren't responsible for weirdly implemented public works projects, you're just a human living in a town making friends
gc version kk isn't there alternating nights at an empty club, showing up once a week added to the 'game moves even if you're not around" sense
gc graphics being an n64 port gave the whole game a sort of papercraft diorama aesthetic
I might prefer freecam as an alternative to top-down rather than rolling log
New Horizons looks like New Leaf's QoL improvements added to GC's tone and comfiness, I'm excited about it
>dig up fossils
>do short deliveries for villagers
>check out store
>end day
>"haha can't be topped :)"
Oh my god why are GameCube fags in general autistic as hell.
>added to GC's tone and comfiness
New Horizon looks like they took the control of New Leaf and the tedium of pocket camp into a new game. It looks nothing like GC.
Literally all harvest moon games would like to have a talk.
Also, listening to Animal Crossing's OST >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> actually playing this chore of a game
>took the control of New Leaf
How is this a bad thing?
>tedium of pocket camp
Pocket Camp was not at all tedious. You never played it. It's a mobile game you boot up for maybe 15 minutes max if your laying out your living space and that's it.
>It looks nothing like GC
Good.
>How is this a bad thing?
It isn't a god game, you're just a villager just like any other animal in the game.
>Pocket Camp was not at all tedious. You never played it
I did play it, so you're wrong. Crafting added another level of RNG tedium on top of randomly alotted villagers and randomly task requirements by dispensing random rewards when completing a task just to get to the crafting.
Try actually going back and playing it. It's missing so many features compared to new leaf. The fact you can't put your house where you want and you have no ability to customize your town at all is really bad. The game is also horribly unbalanced in that you can keep talking to villagers over and over to get a ton of furniture/rare fruit/etc in one day. Then there's stuff like having to mail in fossils, having only shirts for clothes options, etc.
What about the dialogue and terrain generation?
GameCube advantages:
Events are better
NES games (that you can emulate right now on any device)
Nostalgia
New leaf advantages:
Massive amount more content
Tons of new features
Many design flaws patched up
Much more customization
No nostalgia
Clearly GameCube is superior
