Were the songs by Crush 40 and other artists the only good thing about Sonic 06?

WELL I DONT SHOW OFF DONT CRITICIZE

IN HIS WORLD

IM JUST LIVING BY OWN FEELINGS!

The level design was either fine or shit. Mostly the former though.

The entire soundtrack is great. The cg cutscenes and the character interactions in general are great. Mephiles and Solaris are cool too.

Yeah, I was gonna comment how Mephiles was actually a really good character in the game.

His voice is fucking kino

Born too early.

I thought they cut Crush 40 at Sonic 06? Wasn't the main theme by some band called Zebra Head or some shit like that?

Crush 40 has done music for many sonic games until 2010. Then they returned for tsr this year. But Zebrahead did a song for this game too,

06 had kino music

I've never played the game but I have the aquatic base theme on a playlist, it's so fucking good

The level design for stages was pretty good in most cases, or in the case of Kingdom Valley's demo area, fucking brilliant. Probably the best level layout I've ever seen in a 3d platformer. But of course, it's completely fucked by the game's complete lack of proper physics and unfinished controls.

Is it actually worse than Sonic Forces?

Conceptually, it's better than forces will ever be. In execution it's actually unfinished in every way (they even use the wrong take for some of the dialogue in the cutscenes) and whether you enjoy it will depend on how much you can deal with that or abuse that.

It's far more interesting and ambitious than Forces though, that much can be said. Forces isn't worth bothering with, but 06 is worth studying.

God Mephiles is actually the coolest Sonic villain in the whole series. Now all we get is the Cuckly Six and emofag#2097

I'm curious how that fan remake will change things. I mean, surely they can fix some of the more niggling issues, like loading the entire world map for side quests.

Why does Lost World exist? Just... why?

Unfortunately redpilled. That's what makes Sonic 06 an even worse tragedy. If nothing else, there are good levels in there that could be utilised for something brilliant if the controls weren't absolute bollocks. It's kind of sad that this game didn't end up being a renaissance of game development and that we've had multiple games just like it release ever since.

I'd definitely hope so too. After all, a lot of those issues are tied to SEGA's devs just releasing their latest "stable" build as a retail product due to a lack of time anyway.

I had more fun with 06 than with Forces. It's also a lot longer (not just because you will die a lot)
