I'm interested the game, but you have to remember it is a secondary product for them and will be treated as such. It is never going to get as much focus or push, even though for fighting games they could easily pump more into esports than anyone else. Though from recent interviews made it sound like they are holding off on going in hard with that straight away. It was a kind of yeah we'll do something, but even DoA and SNK games get something. They also don't seem particularly concerned about the game in the west, with Xsneed at the helm don't expect good marketing.

Honestly though I think the game will be dropped fast if it doesn't launch with a huge esports league. I'm hoping we get some large scale changes after the beta, your options seem very limited and the combo complexity is below even SFV. Games that go for a simple neutral focus need lots of tech, options and weird stuff to keep it interesting. People calling this anime ST clearly never played that game.

I decided to buy a ticket but now i am hit with indecision on who to spend it on.

It was cause they had built it up through SF4 and SFV rolled straight into it. Pro tours were not even a concept when SF4 launched. Tekken 7's also started before the game came out. DBFZ's World Tour has been full of issues, so I'd hardly bring it up as a good example of what games do. People even theorise they had no idea people would be that into it competitively so didn't prepare. GBV just doesn't seem interesting enough to sustain itself unless it comes out the gate with huge sacks of money.

MK11 had its first pro kompetition event a month after launch. Announced well ahead of time, before launch.

Really? I figured announcements would start getting faster. That makes the lack of an E3 announcement even weirder. Maybe we will get a random trailer sometime, I would say EVO will get one but that August 2nd-4th. So right next to it. That would be kind of weird but not impossible, or maybe they'll skip an announcement then and just do EVO.

They have their own GBF event at Osaka the same day.

Since they didn't announce that GBVS will be playable at EVO, I doubt that they will announce something there.
Would be strange to have someone from Cygames/Arcsys going on stage to show a trailer out of nowhere for an unreleased game between the tounaments of other games.
Also, Arcsys/Bamco will probably show their trailer of Gogeta and nuBroly after their tournament.

I hope you did your part during the beta and told them to get netcode from this decade.

It has happened before, I remember Skullomania got announced out of no where on main stage.

No one said otherwise you over reactive faggot. EVO is simply a big event for fighters, an event that Cygames has sponsored for a while. It is generally the place for big fighting game news, and guarantees a lot of people would see it. But it is more likely they will keep news focused at their own events and just in Japan. Looking at their possibilities and then seeing what they eventually do gives you an idea of how they plan to handle the game.

I loved playing it so much. I hope they'll have something playable at EVO.
