Yeah, SNK's done a bunch of stuff that a lot of people are not aware of. They've done a couple rhythm games, some RPGs, quiz-type games, a two game series that's about touching school girls in order to find out if they're witches. As far as fighting games goes they did a lot like come up with super moves, and a bunch of other mechanics that are thought of basics today. You might be aware of their twin rotating joysticks for Ikari warriors, but they also were the first ones to implement the like pts/game system in arcade games instead of one hit kills, and two of their arcade games are in the run in for being the first game to feature continues.
If you see people upset about something because they're "killing their series" or not treating whatever with respect, or "omg they've never done something like this" chances are they've probably already done something like it before. SNK is just being SNK.

Is there going to be more DLC for this game?
It uses the same graphics as KoF XIV, which are pretty bad. Samurai Shodown looks a lot better because it was made using UE4.
