King crimson can't work effectively in game because you need to see 10 seconds into the future to use time skip effectively. Shit just isn't possible in fightan games

Make it so the opponent can't see that Diavolo has activated Epitath.
Let the fight play for 5 or 10 seconds.
Go 'back in time' (you're not really going back in time, it was just a vision of the future). Diavolo can now freely move around those 10 seconds while the opponent is reduce to watching his own actions take place.

There are three possibilities :
1. The moment King Crimson is activated, player lose control of their character and NPC AI override your character for 10 seconds.
2. The moment King Crimson is activated, your character will be split into two, the past true self and the future ghost self. You control the future ghost self with normal speed movement, but you cannot do anything else (e.g. your attack has no effect against Diavolo and his partner, item effect is nullified, etc.). You past true self however, will follow your future ghost self action/movement in 1 frame per second aka "laggy". The past true self is pretty vulnerable to any attack from Diavolo and his partner, but the past true self will not flinch and keep moving to follow your controlled future ghost self movement/action. After 10 seconds, the past true self swift fast into future ghost self last position to be merged and you can control your character again as one entity.
3. The moment King Crimson is activated, you will be placed on random location and sometimes will do random action/movement (punching empty air, jumping, using item, etc.)

In Jojo ASB, Diavolo was a parry character who had strong counter moves. It was cool because it brought in the whole foresight thing by making it so he saw your attack and countered it

i dont know about fightans but in some things like dota:

>after X seconds everyone returns to the same HP and MP as at the time he activated it

the entire point would be to bait enemies into using their abilities as cooldowns would not get refunded. It would also be a good anti gank tool

Yeah but I'm not sure if the opponent shouldn't be able to see epitath being activated. There should be a hint. In fighting games a ultimate is never unavoidable.

None of those sound like they would work, especially not 1 and 3. Making the opponent act randomly isn't KC's ability, it's almost the opposite. Diavolo should know what he opponent is going to do exactly, making the opponent act randomly doesn't do much to make them predictable.
