Here's that controller you wanted, son.
Here's that controller you wanted, son
Do I look like a fucking retard, dad? Why the fuck would you buy me a stick that isn't even force-sensing in 2019? Are you poor?
here's your controller bro
Flight sticks are by far and away the coolest looking controllers.
It has no practical purpose...but it looks so fucking cool!
Honeycomb release date when?
Unironically a solid flightstick.
I would be tremendously happy with that gift. I use a T. Flight, because I don't play anywhere near enough games to justify a several hundred dollar HOTAS.
Thanks, now I just need some rudder pedals.
>not VKB Gunfighter
Why do you hate me so much, dad?
"Happy Birthday, Son"
I use my racing wheel and hotas about 4-5 times a year each, for a few hours each time. Still sort of worth it even though both cost about $700 each.
Rudder pedals are such a shit show right now. The only under $200 one that doesn't have weird issue is thrustmaster, but the two pedals are a bit close together if you're a fatty. That would mean the logitech/Saitek is the logical step up but for that price, I've heard nothing but complaints. From there pedals just get stupidly expensive.
>mfw I bought one of those to play Descent
>tfw own that and rudder pedals
anyone else play this?
any good game to play with this? other than dcs
a bit uncomfortable, but pretty good
wow thanks mom and dad
time to fire up my space trucking sim
il2 battle of stalingrad
>Warthog
ancient relic. High end sim gear is much more serious these days.
>force sensing
So shit not even the real air force liked it
Now this is the type of hardware autism I can get behind.
My roomie has nearly couple thousand euros worth of sim racing gear and he's still thinking of upgrading.
Is it gay if these remind me of cocks
no
Yes, seek help.
it just works, but fuck me if it doesn't work for long. i swear i can't get more than a year or two out of it before things start going wrong
I have that case.
I wish I had the rest of that stuff.
DUDE i had that before upgrading my stuff. No Joke it could be the best HOTAS out there if the axis had good sensors.
The Button and rotary placements are bomb.
Could use more buttons on the base tho
you got problems with the rudder twist too?
I played a lot of X-Wing Alliance with that baby.
What flight-stick would be best for MechWarrior3, considering it's a simulator that's usually best on keyboard?
Anyone's thoughts on the Thrustmaster T16000M? Only playing Elite dangerous and MS flight sim when that comes out.
I have the throttle and stick, they are ok if you don't have much disposable income. But it's possible you soon want something more substantial. Throttle is not smooth, same with the stick. Hope you like the feel of plastic grinding against plastic. But at least the throttle has a good amount of buttons and the ministick is useful in E:D.
I only have the stick because I'm a poor student but it's pretty good.
> I don't play anywhere near enough games to justify a several hundred dollar HOTAS.
sad but true simply because there are so few games that need one.
my first stick, great model for someone who has no money.
used it all the way until this microsoft product was not longer useable with microsoft windows, fucking mongrels.
This type of hardware must be amazing with VR now.
Flight sims usually cover the entire keyboard on at least 2 layers, I don't see how you're supposed play them with something like this.
What flight sims are you playing exactly? It's difficult with some of the lower end sticks, but with something like the warthog or Virpil you shouldn't have much issue.
I dabbed in DCS and LOMAC before, and the command list has something like 200 actions you can bind. Unless you're supposed to click the switches in the cockpit, but then you still need to take your hand off the joystick
2nd coolest
What the fuck man
>He doesn't use 2 sticks and write this own custom driver to get it working
You're absolutely supposed to click on the stuff with the mouse.
Even then there's 200 actions and about 5 are used regularly
>good for vr
>cant see shit
Based Slavs saving gaming once again.
yup, seems to be the twist and X axis the most.
took all them apart and tried to fix it with some grease but it didn't work. then you end up with the nice game of trying to put the 2 pieces of stick back together without jostling the rudder axis loose and getting it misaligned.
better off just tossing it in the trash and buying another one. it's cheap enough that you can get away with it and i guess getting 2k+ hours out of it really isn't all that bad.
i usually like to leave stuff that can be clicked with the mouse on the keyboard, while having everything necessary for combat set onto the stick. since i only have a stick and no throttle i can get away with using modifier buttons to extend how many keys I have at my control when in a dogfight.
usually only click for certain things like turning on lights and messing around with mfds.
>you still need to take your hand off the joystick
I mean, you'd need to do that in a real plane/helicopter too.
You don't really need to use every action just because you can bind it. And the lever on the stick is usually used for layer shift so you effectively have more buttons. In DCS for example with the SU-25 you can't even click the buttons in the cockpit, so I have everything bound to my hotas and I've never had problems. The KA-50 is a little trickier, so all the startup I do with the mouse, turn on the autopilot, then finish setup with the mouse. But in combat I never really need to take my hands off the HOTAS.
Also, if you have trackIR or something, you could just bind one of the buttons to left mouse click, and then you should never need to take your hands off.
>but then you still need to take your hand off the joystick
What do you think real pilots do when they need to operate something that isn't on the stick of throttle?
You have two hands, you know.
Man, what a thread that was.
I was looking for a flight stick for my hard & ace playthrough of AC7 on PC a couple months back and I had a choice between this for $50 and a pic related for $25 (i.e. negligible price difference). although the x52 looks fucking cool and alot more sturdy i decided to go with cyborg evo because although the X52 would be more precise having take out and setup both the throttle and joystick every single time (on limited desk space on top of that) seemed like it would be such a hassle. plus the palm rest on the evo really saved my wrists big time (as i have some mild carpal tunnel)
Yeah but then it's not really HOTAS, is it? More like HOTASAK or HOTASAM
I remember playing amiga platformers on joystick as a kid. Good times.
And how exactly do you expect to use keypads with a HOTAS?
I liked it better than the T16000 meme.
Have you actually played any games with it? It has shit accuracy compared to the Thrustmaster.
You put a tenkeyless keyboard between the stick and throttle.
I played elite.
I agree about the precision, but the 16k has a weird center bump that I can't seem to get used to.
>used it all the way until this microsoft product was not longer useable with microsoft windows, fucking mongrels.
I still miss my old Sidewinder
Fucking MS. Most incompetent company in the owrld.
You map the shit that is actually on the stick and throttles to the stick and throttles and stuff you would reach for in the cockpit you use your mouse. It's pretty simple.
HOTAS doesn't mean that you keep hands on throttle and stick ALL the time retard. It just means you can do everything required for combat without taking your hands off
logitech released new drivers that make AC7 work with a bunch of saitek joysticks. even if it doesn't work with official drivers you can use x360e
Fuck stick twist, if you like stick twist you probably like to twist your flight stick in your asshole you fucking faggot. Fuck all twist sticks, people that think twist is viable compared to pedals, and people who like to do the twist.
I would get my dad fucking anything for father's day if he bought me that shit. My $100 thrustmaster pales in comparison.
>HOTAS doesn't mean that you keep hands on throttle and stick ALL the time retard.
Someone is an inputlet. It certainly fuckibg does mean exactly that.
Wrong.
COME ON BABYYYYY
DOOOO THE TWIST
Like you were in it
what the fuck is that base the stick is mounted on?
also share more pictures my dude
the T16000M is great value
same tech as the warthog and it twists
bad news? the trigger feels wrong
nooiiiiice, i have two copies for some reason
>Anyone's thoughts on the Thrustmaster T16000M? Only playing Elite dangerous and MS flight sim when that comes out.
I bought this kit. Works really well for as long as it works. The trigger mechanism is unreliable, mine broke and a lot of other people had the same happen. I'm using the throttle still but a Logitech 3D Pro or whatever it's called. Took like half an hour to set up the bindings but I honestly think this is a better setup! Logitech's stick is cheap, no doubt, but it's a lot more comfortable and more than "good enough".
So buy the throttle and a Logitech stick. The pedals are, IMO, not very useful. I bought them because I thought they'd be useful but for the life of me I can't figure out a practical use for them in Elite. Stick twist does just as good of a job.
Holy shit thanks dad
>he wasn't in it
hahahaha
thanks for the info.
If I were to buy a Logitech stick what would you recommend?
This. In fact, I took all the "epic Yea Forums moments" screencaps
me too man, I think we're some incredibly intelligent hivemind so our edits are pixel perfect; exactly the same
If you don't know if you like sims yet, I'd get the fcs bundle when starting out. They're more than fine when starting out, and from there you can start look at spending more cash.
Did you really think you're SUPPOSED to use those bindings?
Every big sim allows you to flick the switches in the actual cockpit with your mouse, then you just need to bind (usually) few the controls that reside on the real stick to yours.
holy shit dad thanks i've always wanted a warthog
Fury 3 was b o m b with this little guy
>He even has the extension
I am jealous.
how you gonna operate the landing gear or plug coordinates into the nav computer retard
thanks bro!
