Is this game worth playing if I liked I, II, and V?

Is this game worth playing if I liked I, II, and V?

yes

the amount of random encounters when sailing, but it's still entertaining especially as a fan of the others.

I love 4 and it SRPG game. It get a lot of flack and shit for not being like the other games. Which I understand but I liked it.

No, no, no. It's boring as fuck, anyone who says otherwise likely doesn't remember playing it.

It was shit, but I remember there being a card-based mini-game that was legitimately fun.

No, it's the worst game in the series by a huge margin. Play 3 if you haven't already, and then you're done with Suikoden.

It still has the same formula as the other Suikoden entries, it's just poorly executed and tedious to play through.

I've tried playing 3 two or three times now. I always get to chapter 2 with everyone and just quit. The gameplay is unbelievably clunky and the only remotely interesting scenario is chris'

>the only remotely interesting scenario is chris'
No way, fag. Geddoe's scenario is easily the best. His team had great chemistry.

Thomas is great too

No. It really is a shitter. Tolerance of this game, let alone liking it, is a sure fire way to tell if someone is a mindless fanboy or has shit taste. This game honestly drove me to a brief period of depression it was so bad.

I remembered Thomas right after I made that post. He's second-place and then there's a power gap between him and Hugo/Chris

The worst part about the game was the obnoxiously high random encounter rate, but it's actually less than the original release of Skies of Arcadia on Dreamcast.

It is a boring slog, even compared to 1's relatively basic gameplay back then. The naval battles are a joke, due to how easy these are, everyone is balanced compared to other games in the serie with much more varied power level, the Hero's rune is actively worse than a normal one, there is only a handful of good characters, but some, like the Strategist, are simply not (hard pressed to see any of her contributions thinking about it)...

Basically plays like a Skies of Arcadia where you suck all the fun out of it. And I do mean ALL of it

I actually think Suikoden 3 has the best combat mechanics in the series, though that isn't saying a whole lot. I do agree that most of the playable characters are a bit bland, though. I also dislike the soundtrack for the most part.

How's 5? I only ever hear people talk about the first three ones (and 4 too, to complain about how bad it was)

5 is the shit, a game you ought to play before you die

5 is an attempt to copy Suikoden I/II, if that makes any sense. Much better than 4, not bad but nothing exceptional. If you liked the first two you should like it.
I reckon Suikoden simpy worked better in 2D.

no its fucking garbage
1, 2, 5 are the only ones worth playing
3 is absolutely disgusting to look at
4 is a departure from past series you only get 4 playable characters out of the hundred you would normally collect
the random encounters when sailing is so annoying
the story itself is awful as well, i hate this faggot mc

It has a really slow beginning, and in some ways I feel it's overly derivative of Suikoden 2. It's still a worthy entry, though, and I enjoyed it quite a bit.

Don't you have to play them in release order to understand the dEePeSt LoRe?

Why no kickstarter with Murayama-san?
Surely a 2D RPG shouldn't be too hard to fund at this point? I guess there would be licensing issues with Konami but fuck it. It would be Suikoden in spirit if not name

It's the weakest of the main games but I have a certain fondness for it. Play it and get 108 stars and you can carry that over into Tactics. Which is great.
