The fighters pass for 25 dollars gets you all 5 characters coming out as well as some other small bonuses like Mii Costumes. You save 5 dollars if you buy the pass instead of buying them all individually. So far we had Piranha Plant as the first DLC character for free in February if you bought the game during the first month, and isn't part of the Fighters Pass, however it didnt come with music or a stage. Joker came out in April as the first real DLC character, 4 protagonists from Dragon Quest comes out in a few weeks, Banjo in Fall, and 2 more unannounced that will be out before Feb 2020. My first Banjo game was unironically Nuts and Bolts so the vehicle creation was what got me into the series. The first two games are fun platformers that I think are better than others released around that time (Mario 64, Crash 1, etc.)

I played Banjo games long after the 64 era, and after they died with Nuts and Bolts, about 9-10 years ago at most.
Replayed Kazooie just last fall to 100% and I felt just as great, because they're god damn well made games. They have a simple appeal to them and they refined that simple silliness amazingly, while putting heart into making the goof ass world and challenges within.
It really comes off like they had fun making the game itself, in my eyes, and that translates into the game super well.

Here's the thing. Every DLC so far has broken what people perceived to be an established "rule" about Smash. One such rule is "Only one DLC rep per third party."

I would not rule out a second Square Enix rep until we've definitely seen all the DLC. Especially since Square was mad they couldn't sell Cloud as DLC, I could see them negotiating for two DLC characters to make up for it.
