I thought it was mediocre. Good soundtrack, decent visuals, and a moderately interesting world... but the protagonist and her issues are the least compelling part of the whole game and the actual gameplay is a chore. It's just clicking and dragging to follow the recipe.

Okay, some of the dialogue was a bit cheesy but that may just be because of the ESL monkey men writing. Obviously some more depth to the bartending mechanics or obvious branching choices, not serving certain drinks for secret endings, would've been fine. I'd replay it but I don't want to do so with a wiki open.

I'm honestly shocked people get so hung up on the fact there's no romance. I mean, even in the VN crowd, who the fuck plays the VN for the actual porn rather than the writing/story? Seriously, who the fuck plays through hours of dialogue just to bust a nut on 10 still porn images?
The writing is half way decent and characters that aren't cardboard cutouts, music is superb, and generally is a half decent read if you have time to kill. Might not be your cup-o-tea, but not everything is.

I really liked this game and as I remember all of Yea Forums loved it too but recently I am seeing a lot of hate towards it, not just recently but earlier this year too. what happened?
also I liked that night in the woods too, both games were perfect for winding off after busy days. and specially when you can't play anything other than fighting games for longer period. so games like that are perfect to get into as break. but for other games you have to fully immerse yourself and if you don't get to play for like a week going back to them becomes really hard

The legit dislikes are those that tried it out after it hit bigger mainstream attention and realized it wasn't anything but a VN with a goofy mechanic used instead of just dialogue choices. It's legit not for everyone, it's a straight up VN, so I can totally get that hate by those that were baited in by the advertising/hype.
Most the people that actually like the game have moved on or don't bother with the threads anymore. Threads were comfy as fuck those first few months. Hype for their new game though.
