I agree, but only if OP is emulating it for the sake of using save states. Going through it blind will take you a long while, and there's no save feature in the game.

Shinobi IV - one of the best action platformers ever
Phantasy Star IV - one of the best JRPGS ever
Shadow Dancer - as good as shinobi 4 but a little different, also you get a doggo

fuck final fight and fuck cadillacs and dinosaurs, genesis has the best beat'em ups

streets of rage 1 and 2

if you like sunset riders there's rolling thunder as well (not as good as sunset riders but still good)

All the Shining games (Shining in the Darkness, Shining Force 1, Shining Force 2) and Phantasy Star 4; 2 and 3 if you don't mind suffering through complicated dungeons and slow walk speeds on huge empty maps.

One of the best games on the system and an animal mascot that isn't cringe like sonic. Why couldn't this have been sega's mascot instead

Still feel lucky that my (well off) childhood friend just gave me this game since he didn't like it. Became one of my favorite Genesis titles. Sparkster's goofy ass yelp when an enemy pops out of a box still makes me smile. Game had charm out the ass.

Getting an actual cart isn't cheap so I picked up a repro with chip saving/, It's pretty good, I prefer ALTTP and landstalker but it's still good.
