Why does it seem like everyone who hates Skyrim has still played it for hundreds of hours?

Morrowind is garbage, and Gothic 1 and 2 will always be the superior RPGs

They haven't got stockholm syndrome from the rape mods yet.

Because a game as timeless as Skyrim, with some of the complexities of New Vegas, will never exist in our timeline. ES6 and Fallout 5 will be infested with microtransactions on a dead engine

>New Vegas
>complex

Because it's a good porn simulator

Oblivion was the best ES

>we now have unironic bethesda fanboys

>complexities of New Vegas
kek

If you only played it for 20 hours a year since release you would’ve have played it for 160 hours.

>Install mods
>Make sure everything is working fine
>Run FNIS and Bodyslide as a last step
>All hell breaks loose and the game won't load anything, can't even reach the fucking title screen
This fucking Jenga tower of a game takes hundreds of hours of work to make run, that's why.
And I'm not missing a fucking master file. The only change I made was running FNIS and Bodyslide. Before I did that it loaded fine, and now it won't load shit.

you play skyrim for the porn not the gameplay or story

Attached: skyrim3.webm (640x1138, 1.92M)

just undo whatever last mod you installed...you did use mod manager right?...RIGHT??

I haven't played in about a year but I like Skyrim. With a lot of mods, anyway.

Nah I like the booties on the maids in dishonored and the alchemist in Witcher 3 though

why are you running bodyslide as a last step? that shit should be done near the beginning along with HDT to make sure everything's to your liking before you dump in a ton more mods

Well, NV is complex when compared to Bethesda's usual theme park world.

I still haven’t completed a play through that doesn’t fuck with my immersion or “headcanon”

what? what's that got to do with op's question?

This isn't my first rodeo. I deactivated the files generated by FNIS and Bodyslide and shit still doesn't work.
Why would I not run bodyslide at the end? I'm going to have to redo it if I add any armor mod anyway.

I’m not responding to OP you narc, my on-topic reply is Elsweyr in the thread (no I’m not a furry)

'Cos its shit without mods. You take more time modding and playtesting than actually playing through it all cos its so shit.

I just like the sex mods

I play Skyrim because I love to explore the map.

The more time you spend - the more problems for you to see
And then comes a point where you can't just say "it's not THAT bad"

Think of it like Pokemon. Most games are still serviceable in the sense that you can invest a lot of time in them and still have a generally decent experience, but people hate it because it could be a lot more. If you look at oblivion, there were a lot of attempts at having some kind of depth like the wide range of spells and that shitty dialogue wheel and whatnot. Skyrim simplified what they did for their previous titles except that they accidentally removed any kind of substance. You don't play hundreds of hours on Skyrim for a good game, you play hundreds of hours for a mental filler to prevent yourself from self reflecting upon a pathetic life.

sex mods unironically ruined Bethesda games for me.
I just fap then stop playing.

Most of that time is fapping + designing a character to fap too.

I have around 200 hours in Dark Souls 2 and a little less than that for God of War. Both games i vehemently despise. Sometimes i just force/compel myself to fully finish it to the end.

>I deactivated the files generated by FNIS
that's a problem right there it also fucks up if you have too many animation packs installed even with FNIS XXL
>Why would I not run bodyslide at the end? I'm going to have to redo it if I add any armor mod anyway.
unless you're using some kind of obscure or exotic body mod you can just build that shit at the beginning along with HDT and any compatible clothing/armor packs will just go with that body

I just downloaded Skyrim on my Switch and I have to say it’s one of the worst games imaginable. Shit graphics and awful dialogue. I dropped it after 20 minutes and went back to Zelda

my reply was to op. what do dishonored maids and the alch in witcher have to do with my reply?

>you just showed up but you're now the strongest warrior in the country
>you just showed up and are already the strongest warrior but now youre also the strongest mage in the country
>you just showed up and you are the strongest warrior and mage in the country but now youre also the strongest assasain in the country

fuck pacing
fuck earning anything
fuck a satisfying climb just drop you on mount orgasm over and over it'll never get old

I wanted to be sure it was actually shit and all the faggots hyping and talking about it all the damn time were shit eaters.

You have to admit it’s a more complex and thought-out game than anything Bethesda could make

>have kaidan and Recorder companion mods
>they both fell in love with me

How the hell do I break up with Kaidan, I’m not gay.

I love it unironically. I've got multiple thousands of hours. I've just started a playthrough of special edition now that most mods are ported and skse is released. Fuck the retards that bitch about it.

You’re high

It's a good game for what it is, which is something akin to bingeable TV. It's got enough dialogue and story to keep the player moving forward without ever challenging them, it's got enough action and ambiance to keep the player engaged without being mechanically difficult, and it's got enough character creation to get the player thinking they are playing an RPG, without them feeling like it's complicated enough that they need to plan out a real build. It's really easy to just play it with your brain on low power for hours without getting bored, but most people don't look back on that kind of experience and think about how great it was, they just think about how much time they spent and yet can't remember any one thing that really stood out to them the whole time. When you look at all the RPG pieces in it objectively, it's clear they are about as shallow as you can get without losing the RPG label.

I'm saying this as someone who still sometimes installs some mods and plays for a little bit every so often. It's not the terrible game some people make it out to be, it's just also not a particularly good one. It's fine.

It's fucked. I never had any trouble with mods with nmm but I'm using vortex for se and I can't get more than a few of the mods I always used to work.

Baby's First RPG

use modmanager it's much better

My life is fine. Maybe you need to quit your job as a projectionist?

Zoomer input not needed or welcome

user, I plead for you mercy to name his mod.

Accusing me of projecting? It sounds like you regularly project on people and say that they project to shield your psyche from criticism .

Yeah I'll try that. Vortex is garbage.

Its not that its a bad game, its a good game that could be an amazing game if not for being made for consoles and general laziness of the devs.

>I'm not projecting, you are!
You're projecting at the same time as denying you're projecting.

>No U
The pot calling the kettle black......

It's a bad game, but it's fun to RP and play pretend.

first time playing
>I've pretty much just started, i'm sure it gets better later on
second time playing
>let's try some mods, maybe more content will make it fun
third
>plenty of new mods since last time, let's try this again
fourth
>I'm 30 minutes in from having modded the fuck out of it and already want to stop playing

I've given the game plenty of chances and am left frustrated that I wasted so much time trying to understand why so many people like this game. Anyone who says that mods can fix it have low standards, same with fallout 4.

I hate both the precedent it set for the franchise and the ceaseless normie praise surrounding it, it's also incredibly disappointing when compared to it's predecessors and other rpgs in the genre. Skyrim left a scar on Bethesda in the form of eso, blades, legends and fallout 4, rpg elements are being eviscerated and tes is being milked dry.

however, it's still fun. it does exploring very well, the tes lore is always interesting and it oozes atmosphere. it could have been so much more than what it is.

Because playing Oblivion gets old and you still wanna play in the Elder Scrolls universe.

Only the normalfags hate skyrim because they are too brainlet to mod the game without having issues.

Skyrim is a zoomer game

>Its a bad game
>But its fun
So its not a bad game?
Make up your fuckin mind.

How else would you have a founded opinion?

I played it for about 14 hours and was pretty sick of it by then, how does anybody stomach hundreds of hours

Attached: neutralplanet.png (500x375, 227K)

It's really not a good game in general. The RPG aspect is streamlined to the point of character building being moot. The guild stories are a joke with their main stories brought up right from the beginning and YOU being the one to set everything straight (yeah I know it'll come to that, but dishing out over time is preferable and feels more organic rather than "YOU ARE CHOSEN ONE!"). The civil war quest is lame and has no real affect on the game who you choose. Any change in Jarls also affects nothing. The main quest is also boring and the villain is stupid as fuck. Alduin could kill you anytime but chose not to and even the final battle is lame as you just pin him to the ground wail on him until he does the stupid spazzing ragdoll death all dragons do to undercut all the emotion that's supposed to come from their deaths. This game was half-assed the whole way and does not deserve any praise. I fucking love Oblivion, but no way would I give that a game of the year award.

who /sneakydragonbornwerewolfbretonthiefssassingayarcher/ here?

I liked it, just not as much as oblivion

Because regardless of the legitimate criticisms people have about it, it's still a solid game at the end of the day.

Because BOTW came out

Attached: Untitled.png (333x131, 64K)

Literally the only thing that game has going for it is FUS-RO-DAH just for the hilarious ragdoll shit.

>you play hundreds of hours for a mental filler to prevent yourself from self reflecting upon a pathetic life.
>too personal bruh, too personal.
Stop looking at me like that back there, Ada, the only reason I didn't make you my waifu is BECAUSE BETHESDA WON'T LET ME and you know that.

As much as I hate Skyrim's gameplay, I like the Elder Scrolls setting, so I take what I can get.

When you play it for so long you really start to develop awareness of the game's problems, they sort of pile up. I complain about it but still play it; but heavily modded so I have some semblance of a challenge (I know, even combat mods can't really fix it that well). Try a playthrough with the compass modded out so it doesn't show you nearby locations, disable quest markers and fast travel. This'll force you to look at the game more and less at the GPS shit, and also it will make a horse more valuable. Get a mod that gives the horse better speed.

>i-if you thought it was bad then why did you play it instead of shitposting on Yea Forums about a game you only know through trailers and hearsay meme
There is no one more qualified to tell you a game is shit than someone with hundreds of hours logged.
